DH loves the name Sasha. To me it's a nickname rather than a name name. What other names could it be linked to apart from Natasha?

I've known a few Sasha's, all of them just called Sasha not Natasha (a nickname for Natasha would be Tash or Tasha to me)

I like it.

Alexandra or Alexa, Alexia etc (Sasha is the Russian short version of Alexandra)

FieldsOfCorn · 21/07/2013 21:48

It's a lovely name, it's a short name for Alexandra.

BeanoNoir · 21/07/2013 21:51

I love it and think it's great as a name on its own.

It is a lovely name, I know 2 (one grown up one a child), neither are short for something.

I would go for Alexandra or Alexandria on birth cert and use Sasha every day. They then have a choice later on. It's a fab name :-)

iclaudius · 21/07/2013 22:35

Short for Alexandra definitely

squoosh · 21/07/2013 23:07

Love it.

I know two grown up Sashas one in her twenties the other pushing forty. Actual name, not a shortening of anything.

Astralabe · 22/07/2013 20:06

We have a girl Sasha - never considered using Alexandra as they are so different sounding it doesn't feel right if Sasha is what you like (a bit like Woody / Edward although I consider Sasha a more 'proper' name on its own right). Sibling Ridley (boy) - a friend said we have a 70s cop show sounding set but I love em!

Sasha on its own may be modern, but it's beautiful IMO
