twin boy name suggestions?

We are having such a hard time agreeing on names. Both of us being Irish, originally I did want typical Irish names. Now, after going through loads of them, I hate them all. Surname being 'McKenna' I'm finding is so difficult to find first names that flow haha.

I personally like Leyton and Tait. My partner likes Tommy and Patrick (no way is that happening)

Anyone want to throw some suggestions at me? We both have big families, which is a pain. Made up of mainly boys.

Thanks in advance.

@FeegleFion yeah I'm really starting to love 'Jude' but Jude andddd? No, Niall has been suggested and I really don't like it. To be fair, Jude McKenna doesn't really flow does it?

@pygmy Hector and Magnus is a little too out there. I wish I was brave enough to call my twins that though. Pretty cool names.

@MerryMarigold I'm in love with the name Ollie/Olly, it's adorable. It so frustrating. Ever since we found out they're both boys they have been HIS boys, absolutely over the moon, which is sweet. But I just cant allow him to choose the names, I cant haha.

What about Nial?

I love Bart too. Even Bart Simpson is pretty cool. If it's any consolation, Dh and I argued for ages about names for our pfb. He ended up with a pretty common name, but I love it, and it suits him. It was actually our postcode (0LY) - we exchanged houses the day he was born. When I had the twins, he pretty much left it up to me, and I'm always thinking of names I love more, or wished I'd called them!

@Touchmybum don't like Conal, no.

What are peoples thoughts on Cian? That's the only name we seem to agree on. But don't know about the other little man x

@MerryMarigold Bartley is lovely. But I would hate it to be shortened to 'Bart'

Touchmybum · 03/07/2013 15:58

Conal?

Lulu90 · 03/07/2013 15:58

@Touchmybum Partner just said "we're not giving birth to 80 year old men" oh dear. I take that as a no then. I quite like Callan. Or Keelan.

@Touchmybum I quite like Jonah

@Sparrow8 I don't really like either. Connor McKenna doesn't flow haha.

Bartley - The name of one of the twelve apostles, it is the Irish form of the Hebrew name Bartholemew "Son of Talmai."

Emmet - love this,, but perhaps not with surname

Lorcan - you could only get away with this as you are Irish! Fabulously romantic and brill with surname

Boy in my son's class is called Callan.... what about Albert and Arthur (Bertie and Art?)

Lulu90 · 03/07/2013 15:56

Alfred, so Alfie of Freddie, Alf or Fred. Nope haha.

Sparrow8 · 03/07/2013 15:56

Sean and Connor.....traditional names

Touchmybum · 03/07/2013 15:55

Wilfred? Samuel, Josias, Jonah/Jonas?

Lulu90 · 03/07/2013 15:55

Nephew is Leo and partners best friend is Jake. This is an absolute nightmare haha.

There's an ongoing joke that they'll be called 'thing 1 and thing 2'. I am not amused.

Touchmybum · 03/07/2013 15:53

Leo and Jake?

Lulu90 · 03/07/2013 15:53

I much prefer Jude MerryMarigold!!

Lulu90 · 03/07/2013 15:52

@MerryMarigold brother-in-law's name is Fintan, so can't have Fin of any sort. Love that name :( Liam is too common.

I'm so bloody fussy haha!! Sorry

@MerryMarigold I was actually thinking to use Jude as a middle name. I love it. Partner doesn't agree.. Grr men

OP posts:
MerryMarigold · 03/07/2013 15:51

Fionn and Liam

Touchmybum · 03/07/2013 15:50

I read somewhere that some of the really old names are coming back in, like Arthur and Stanley...

Archie is cute.

It's going to be very hard to marry traditional and unusual!!!

MerryMarigold · 03/07/2013 15:48

Marlon is so cool in Peanuts. I wish I called my twin Marlon! He is Jude.

There's another suggestion: James and Jude
