Any thoughts on this?

I have an eight year old Dylan, he gets caled deeby of deebystar.

Its OK as a girls named, I think in america they use it more as a girls name.

I had a female rabbit called Dylan - but that was only because the vet got the sexing wrong when we bought it

So I think Dylan could be a girl's name, and I'm sure it would work but it's too popular currently imo. At least Daryl is not that popular iyswim. So although I find them equally soft/strong and if you just listen to the sound they are equally unisex, I want to suggest Daryl to you instead.

I have a female relative called Daryl. And she is older than Daryl Hannah.

I prefer it for a girl and dont think is too bad for a boy either. i dont think it would be confusing. i see a lot of names in my job and some of them are truly weird but you know what most people dont get so confused with spelling etc as people make out... gone are the days of every child being called charlotte/matthew/chloe etc. Id much rather see more unusual names and children cope with it. so long as its not totally out there like moon unit.

burberryqueen · 22/06/2013 17:25

no it is bad enough for a boy

TiggerWearsATriteSmile · 22/06/2013 17:23

I know a girl Dylan. She's 7 now and it's still confusing and seems wrong calling her.

It always gets the Hmm look too.

I wouldn't use it.

Could be quite cool - prefer the name unthread.
