I think it's lovely. I have a colleague called Victor but he's Spanish (so pronounced Bictor).

Only other Victor I think of it that guy from the Corpse Bride who looks freakishly like DP

Elquota · 27/06/2013 00:03

I quite like it.

If Victoria's a nice name, why not Victor?

FoundAChopinLizt · 26/06/2013 23:02

He is very cute, that actor. although spookySmile

Prawncat · 26/06/2013 10:40

FoundAChopin, Victor on The Returned makes me like it even more as now I can visualise it on a little boy! Hopefully mine will be less creepy though.

Victor is the spooky child/zombie on the Channel 4 series The Returned on now.

Allalonenow · 25/06/2013 22:11

I like it, but only if it is linked with an actual victory, battle of Waterloo, or Trafalgar etc.

DramaAlpaca · 25/06/2013 22:02

I know an eight year old Victor & I just don't think it suits him. I'm sure he'll grow into it by the time he's about 60 though...

Sorry Grin

morethanyoubargainfor · 25/06/2013 22:01

I love Victor, but I should point out that one of my dogs is called Victor! Grin. still a great name however.

I thunk all the nice older names have been done to death, and the only ones left are the Victirs and Walters. They were left for a reason.

LondonBus · 25/06/2013 21:40

I imagine a black person, pronouncing there name Vic tor.

MrsBungle · 25/06/2013 21:34

My friends 4 yo is called victor so I'm slightly used to it as a kids name now. I know a few old 'vic's'. I don't much like it to be honest.

rusmum · 25/06/2013 21:32

I have one in my class- he is lovely x

Smugfearnleyshittingstool · 25/06/2013 19:28

I love it.... Hubby and I love Vic as a nn, but we like reginald too, Reggie!

AllegraLilac · 25/06/2013 17:06

I love it! Victoria is fine, why not Victor?

TeWiSavesTheDay · 25/06/2013 11:39

I like it! DH didn't though.

Prawncat · 25/06/2013 11:24

Oh dear, not popular then! Still on our list though ;)

MyNameIsSuz · 21/06/2013 08:28

I love it, it was on our list. We had the name down as someone cool, punky 1980s-style or post-war London gangstery, but decided that actually here in the soft-as-anything home counties it would sound poncy and affected. I still really like it though, it might be on the list still for the next one.

elQuintoConyo · 19/06/2013 20:15

I have a Bil Victor, cool guy so good connotations for me.
Agree that nn Vic is awful - Queen Vic anyone?

justhayley · 19/06/2013 20:10

My Dads a Victor so I find it hard to imagine on a baby. Pretty much everyone except my gran calls him Vic so if you don't like Viv as a nn I wouldn't use it

podgymumma · 19/06/2013 19:15

Victor Meldrew
Victor Meerkat (Compare the market.com)

Gambia · 19/06/2013 19:08

I actually really liked it. I liked Victor Alexander, thought it sounded like a very strong masculine name. Dh didn't! Not sure about nns though, don't like Vic. Suits a man, not so much a baby or teen if that makes sense.

AnotherLovelyCupOfCoffee · 19/06/2013 18:24

I love it! Some of the Hectors should be Victors.

TinyDiamond · 19/06/2013 18:16

love it. considered it

tethersend · 19/06/2013 17:59

Sorry, one more and name him Roger- the other one was Clarence Oveur Grin
