Hello - I need Scottish place names that can also be used as baby names. Any ideas??? So far I can only think of:

Well I grew up in Moray and we have also called it Morayshire!

MarianForrester · 31/05/2013 20:19

Or Angus for a boy?

MarianForrester · 31/05/2013 20:18

Afton or Clova? Both pretty girls names, I think.

Findo Gask

(Don't click if you want to hold on to the dream)

JollyOrangeGiant · 31/05/2013 20:11

I don't think Morayshire is a place. It is just Moray.

I love Forbes. DS has a name on one of these lists. DC2 will possibly have a Scottish placename if they're a boy.

sparrowfart23 · 31/05/2013 20:07

If a were a boy, I would have been Forbes (a family name, but it's also a place).

Yama · 31/05/2013 20:06

Don't do it Foxy - you will be disappointed (probably).

farmersdaughter · 31/05/2013 20:00

Gla don't get your post?

Morayshire is a place the county is Moray. Suggested Murray as in the surname alternative to Moray.

emacp · 31/05/2013 20:00

I hope op realises a lot of the posters here are taking the proverbial and that many of the suggestions are ridiculous

FoxyRevenger · 31/05/2013 19:57

Yama mine too! Every time we drive past it I really want to go and see what's there.

Oh, and we had a dog called Benbecula, Ben for short.

Isla is Islay, in the context of Scottish islands. And whisky (it's my middle name). My sister's middle name is Iona, and I always like that they match.

LemonBreeland · 31/05/2013 19:53

Glaikit interesting that you put Jura as a girls name. I know a boy called Jura. Smile Smile

LemonBreeland · 31/05/2013 19:52
