If DH likes Lily what else might he go for?

As just ttcing at the moment this is possibly a bit forward thinking, but I'm in need of some suggestions to put to DH for a possible DD2 that are not Lily. Which he has set his heart on Sad.

Rules are no E names, preferably not ending in ie or y (rhymes with DD), and not in the top ten (we have a very common surname in our area - a child called Lily Surname round here may as well be called generic girl child.)

DD is Elsie (Not one of mns favoured names I know... Wink).

I like Hazel, Margaret, Beatrice, Alice, Violet. He literally only likes Lily. With a middle name so awful I am to afraid to share it (family name, ugh). Help please!

I love Robert. Really underused at the moment and such a lovely name.

(Just an aside-I know we're not discussing that!)

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 30/05/2013 21:35

Ooh, Roberta, NN Bobbi?

Robyn?

MabliD · 30/05/2013 21:15

Thanks everyone!

Some gorgeous names I hadn't thought of before to introduce to DH! If we do have a girl I shall let you know the outcome Wink

DS would be Robert. See, easy! Grin

What's your pick for a DS?

MabliD · 29/05/2013 21:33

I suggested Lillian, and it would probably be the compromise name iyswim, but I cannot emphasise enough how many baby Lilys there are locally and I think Lillian would inevitably be shortened. I hope I'm wrong though!

Love Lydia.

We need to have a DS. Easy, sorted, no arguments. Well, fewer arguments anyway!

My friend has a Myla Lily and I love her name. I've 2 boys and ds3 is another boy but another name I liked that I hadn't heard before was Amelie.

I love Genevieve! Can't imagine DH would be as keen sadly. Like Sadie and Ruth but not sure they work with Elsie or with the chosen middle name (think elderly Welsh lady).

Can't use Alexandra, Alice, Harriet, Marianne or Phoebe due to family / friends. Cordelia is off limits too (best friend's favourite name).

Glad to see more votes for Violet Grin.
