Zoë...? Too dated?

Opinions would be great.

I told my aunt and she likes it, but thinks it is a very ''early nineties'' name...?

And what middle names (2 or three syllable to go with surname Grey)

Love it, actually, and surprised it isn't used more.

ilikemysleep · 27/05/2013 17:37

BTW we also loved the meaning...we lost 4 pregnancies in all and as a result have a Benedict ('blessing') and a Zoe ('life') . Ben was called Benedict pre- Cummerbatch days....

ilikemysleep · 27/05/2013 17:32

My daughter is Zoe Susannah. She just turned 3. I love it, it's a name that is cute for a little girl but classic for an adult, and it's pretty timeless. I know a very few Zoes - an 8 year old, an adult, and my great aunty who dies aged 91 in 2001. It's never been massively popular but neither is it weird Smile

MsJupiterJones · 27/05/2013 13:46

I know what you mean seeker and I am not a fan of wacky spellings at all. But I guess when you have known someone a while it doesn't seem odd, and in this case I think quite pretty.

She doesn't have to put any more effort in to spell her name than I have to say, with a K and an e-r and an i-n-e!

IHeartKingThistle · 27/05/2013 12:02

Will never date. It's fab.

seeker · 27/05/2013 11:55

And Zoie is Zoy. Agggggggggggghgh!

seeker · 27/05/2013 11:54

Why give a child a fantastic, timeless, classic beautiful name, then ensure that thy have to spell it every time they give it for the next 80 years? Why????????

MsJupiterJones · 27/05/2013 11:39

I'm also not one for alternative spellings but I know a Zoie which I've always liked (I mean the name, but I like the person too!)

It is a timeless name and Grey is a great surname.

jellybeans · 26/05/2013 13:57

I like it.

seeker · 26/05/2013 12:33

But Zooey, is pronounced Zoo-ey, not Zoey. My niece is Zooey- short for Zulaika.

MortifiedAdams · 26/05/2013 12:09

I lik Zoe. Im not one for alternative spellings but I orefer Zooey

SingleBelle · 26/05/2013 12:06

I like it. It's has been fairly popular for a long time, but never ubiquitous. Good choice. I know a zoe of 42, a zoe in her teens and a friend has a tiny one.

amandine07 · 26/05/2013 09:44

I think it's a pretty solid, classic name!

AuntPittypat · 25/05/2013 21:44

I really love it. It feels like an out-of-the-blue suggestion for some reason (although it's not an 'out there' name), but a totally gorgeous name. It makes me picture a pretty, feisty, independent girl/woman. Love it. Might steal it if I ever get around to having another DC and they turn out to be a girl!

newgirl · 25/05/2013 21:39

Really like it but is popular - know a 4, 6 and 10 year old

GW297 · 25/05/2013 21:35

I like it. The youngest Zoe I know is 7.

daisydoodoo · 25/05/2013 20:56

Sorry I don't like it. But obviously I am the only person in the world not to Grin. The 2 girls names I like the least are zoe and amy.

IncrediblePhatTheInnkeepersCat · 25/05/2013 20:52

Not dated at all. It's a lovely name and not overused. We get a Zoe every couple of years at school.

gindrinker · 25/05/2013 20:47

No, not dated. I know a toddler Zoe.

pascalia · 25/05/2013 01:53

No, not dated.

Eastpoint · 24/05/2013 05:26

There's a Zoë at school with my yr7 DC. Ziggy would be a great nickname/homage to David Bowie. I think she's the only Zoë in the school so you achieve a great name - well known but unusual. Imogen is another long middle name but less well used than Isobel (& variations there of).

Amy106 · 24/05/2013 04:59

Zoe is a classic name. I really like it.

EverybodysGoneSurfing · 23/05/2013 20:32

My two year old is Zoe (no punctuation) partly for the meaning and partly because it's cute!

PollyJane · 23/05/2013 18:12

Wow, almost 100%. :)

I love the meaning ''life'' - we have waited so long for our baby that the meaning is important to me us (as I mentioned before, hubby is so over the moon with impending arrival, I could call the baby ''Mmm Danone'' and he would be happy!)

Thanks, guys!

I like Isobel and Alice as middle names and esp. like the ZIG/ZAG initials :)

I knew someone would correct me...couldn't think what else it might be called, sorry.

There must be an alt code I suppose.
