What comes to your head when you hear piper?

I love it, other half.. Not so much, I'm sure there is room for persuasion though... Smile

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Sarah Palin. It is (famously) the name of one of her children. She named the child after the light aircraft she likes to use while shooting. To me it is therefore a sort of moose-shootin'-from-helicopters, redneck kind of name that goes with Trig and Track and the other names given to her children.

wizzler · 22/05/2013 22:24

I love it...

ChristineDaae · 22/05/2013 21:14

Piper from charmed here too, love it but not for a girl

LittleMissLucy · 22/05/2013 00:52

I like it and I live in the US where I hear it occasionally, but not as much as many other names.

soontobeslendergirl · 21/05/2013 23:51

there are two in my son's school of 200+ kids - 1 boy and 1 girl :)

LynetteScavo · 21/05/2013 22:51

Billie Piper.

But I like it as a name, maybe as Harper's sibling.

dyzzidi · 21/05/2013 22:43

I love love love the name Piper! Dd was very nearly called it but our surname makes it sound like the oil rig!

KittyVonCatsworth · 21/05/2013 22:41

Alpha. Not keen TBH.

olivertheoctopus · 21/05/2013 21:03

American.

Alligatorpie · 21/05/2013 19:12

I love it, it was actually on my list, but dh veto'd it.

fruitypie · 21/05/2013 19:07

I love it!

Takver · 21/05/2013 18:30

First reaction "Piper at the gates of Dawn", nice name, though (bit of an old hippy, me)

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 21/05/2013 17:52

Piper Laurie, then Piper Alpha came into my head.

To me it's a cheery name, unusual.

VivaLeBeaver · 21/05/2013 17:41

Piper from The Minecraft Crew. DD watches MineCraft Crew videos on YouTube so much I feel like Piper is my best friend. She seems nice enough, American.

JambalayaCodfishPie · 21/05/2013 17:40

My friend has a Piper, after Charmed! Grin

TheRealFellatio · 21/05/2013 17:37

She was English too - not American.

TheRealFellatio · 21/05/2013 17:37

I love it. I met a girl called Piper once - she'd be about 38 now. Lovely name.

polkadotsrock · 21/05/2013 17:36

Charmed. But I love it for a girl- is it for a girl or boy OP?

ipswitch · 21/05/2013 17:36

Sounds like somewhere in the shipping forecast to me.

CoolStoryBro · 21/05/2013 17:36

Ds 2's girlfriend. It really suits her. Bright, very pretty and just the right side of feisty.

MrsBrownstone · 21/05/2013 17:29

I too think of Piper from Charmed. I like it but it's probably something I'd call a pet.

TenthMuse · 21/05/2013 17:26

It makes me think of a novel called 'How I Live Now', which features a lovely character called Piper. Do think it sounds very American though.

Decoy · 21/05/2013 17:04

Piper Alpha oil rig.

TWinklyLittleStar · 21/05/2013 16:50

I think Gillian Anderson called her daughter Piper, way back when. She must be, what, nearly 20 now? As I'm quite a big fan of GA the name has grown on me a lot.

Floggingmolly · 21/05/2013 16:49

It's a bird with thin, gangly legs.
