Most recent name to make you "huh?!"

What names have you heard recently to make you stop in your tracks and wonder if the parents are a bit mad?

My most recent favourite is... Flossy, for a girl.
Made worse because my dads pet name for me is Flossy, or Floss. So to hear it as an ACTUAL name just makes me gawp.

Worst boys name - Banjo.

Haydn. Not unusual, I know, but his mum said "The H is silent". So it's Aidan, but written Haydn.

Recently met baby Tiger Hunter - those were his first two names followed by surname.

There was a boy in DD's class called Binh. In his parents' defence, they're Thai. And a boy in DS's class called Cheetah (Indonesian).

Actually I know several young Matthews and neighbours' kid is called Eric.

And yes, Khaleesi is a Game of Thrones reference. Means queen in an imaginary language There is also a Daenarys or few hundred out there - that's the 'first' name of said Khaleesi.

My dad was shocked to hear of a Casper the other day. I said that's cute. He said 'it's a friendly ghost'!

Also know a grown-up Loveday and met a grown up Khia recently (made me think of the car).

And also think Ptolemy as Tolly is pretty cool - my favourite book series as a kid featured a boy called Tolly and never knew (until now) what it was short for.

marthastew Lazer??? Definitely not Lazar? (which is a common slavic name). There was a Lazar at DD's nursery who always got referred to as Laser, poor child.

there is a Ptolemy in dgs nursery class [I get many chances to share that on here :) ] He is known as Tolly and is a lovely boy. Dgs asks why does Tolly write P for his name?

Banjo is the name of the little boy in The Runaway Dinner which is a great book for toddlers :)

America is the place for daft names with odd spellings-usually with 'ee' endings .I did see a Serinytee and a Destinee as well as Libertee and Rylee-Jo.

Eco (pronounced as in eco-warrior) - 'met' him at a recent open day at a nature reserve/woods type place which was rather appropriate I guess!

When DS heard the name he quipped "I bet that boy Eco's friendly" Grin
