... What else would I like?
I was convinced I was having a girl, but today's 20 week scan showed I was very much mistaken!
As you can see I like traditional names, help!

I like those, I especially like Arthur Grin and I also like

George
Frederick
Wilfred
Albert
Alfred
Edwin
Henry

BTW the Arthur I know best never gets any kind of nickname. Certainly not arty farty Hmm

I see most all of my ideas have been suggested already!

ABirdInTheBush · 04/05/2013 20:19

DejaB00 Our friends & family were quite vocal when we were choosing a name, but they all liked Theodore and if any of them had thought it was too posh/ridiculous we would have definitely known about it.

No-one we've met has ever commented upon it in a negative way - but then I suppose they'd be damn rude if they did!

And I do pronounce my T's, but we're not posh. In case you were wondering Wink

Bowlersarm · 04/05/2013 09:41

I suggested that! See my post earlier OP. Wink

DejaB00 · 04/05/2013 08:56

Thank you for all your suggestions so far ladies. They have helped in a way, to reinforce to fact that I just love Arthur, Theodore and Stanley and struggle to like anything else! Damn it. DH doesn't like any of them but has no other suggestions...
I just thought if Victor, what do you think? It's quite a strong name, would it go with big brother Louis?
Thanks Smile

There are an Arthur and an Edward (Ted) in my family... Both 70ish.
I find it funny they're fashionable again.

thetigerwhocametoteax · 03/05/2013 20:50

We have a Arthur and a Ted (Edward). Ted was nearly a Theodore but DH thought it was too "posh" so changed at last minute. Others we liked were Reuben, Edgar, Rowan, George, Albert and Wilfred.

forevergreek · 03/05/2013 12:40

Conrad
Theodore ( very common in my Greek family side)
Thaddeus
Arlo
Casper/ caspian

Love Arthur

DejaB00 · 03/05/2013 10:55

abird what reactions do you get from people with Theodore? I know I shouldn't care but I do! I think it's fab with nn Theo but I need to convince my DH for this one too...

I have a Theodore - great name.

Really struggling with another boys name for the next one due this year - Arthur was on the list, but I don't like the yuppy nn 'Arty' and it's having a real boom in popularity around here - there will be 5 others in the class.

Dominic, Jonathan, Vincent & Max are also on our list but none of them seem right, so I will be watching this thread closely!

Much easier if it's a girl - I've always wanted a Florence and I don't care if half the country got there before me.

Yes my DP always says if we called our son Arthur he would get called 'arty farty' and 'half a job' at school....
Hmm

DejaB00 · 02/05/2013 21:02

Archie and Alfie are our cats' names, we have nephew called Ted (love it) and not sure about the others!
