What do you think of Sloveia as a girl's name? It's listed on Mumsnet's Baby Name Finder.

I haven't heard of it before but if you listed it presumably it means something special to you. Took me as a schoolgirl a while to realise Siobhan was sounding like Shevaun so the strangeness of Sloveia having an 'n' sound in the middle would sink in I'm sure.

Saralyn · 27/04/2013 13:25

Sorry, wrong link.

Statistcs Norway

Saralyn · 27/04/2013 13:24

It's not a Norwegian name. i looked it up on Statistics Norway website and it says that "Fewer than four people or no one has the name Sloveia" in Norway.

pinkyredrose · 27/04/2013 13:10

It's awful.

MadBusLady · 27/04/2013 13:06

Where did you get it from, OP? I can't find it anywhere on the internet except this thread.

GoombayDanceBand · 27/04/2013 13:04

It would drive me mad, with the missing letter thing. Sorry.

sparkle12mar08 · 27/04/2013 13:03

Slovenly Slitheen from Slovenia I'm afraid. Awful.

KittenofDoom · 27/04/2013 10:27

If it's Slo-veen-a as you say, then it does look like a typo. Where does the 'n' sound come from?

sooperdooper · 27/04/2013 08:32

Don't like it, yeah it sounds like slovenly or a mispronounced country

AmiorEzzy · 27/04/2013 08:31

KittenofDoom · 26/04/2013 19:43

It just looks like a typo for Slovenia. Norwegian, really? I've heard Solveig, which sounds a little bit like Sylvie.

MinnieBar · 26/04/2013 19:19

Slovakia, Slovenia?

Exhaustipated · 26/04/2013 19:17

Yup sorry reminds me of slovenly

Rhubarbgarden · 26/04/2013 19:15

Too close to slovenly.

Chottie · 26/04/2013 17:53

FoxyRevenger · 26/04/2013 15:57

It sounds like dandruff shampoo or something.

lljkk · 26/04/2013 15:56

slovenly? Coz that's how I hear it.

TigOldBitties · 26/04/2013 15:43

I keep reading it as Slovenia. How is it pronounced?

AmiorEzzy · 26/04/2013 15:41

I have heard it and I always think of a water creature and a girl with brown hair.
