My money's on Elizabeth. Or Caroline.

I love bearandcubs suggestions!

But my money is on Alice

MimsyBorogroves · 25/04/2013 17:27

I think girl, and Victoria or Elizabeth. Though I keep thinking Cassandra - I have no idea why.

CecyHall · 25/04/2013 17:24

I've changed my mind, I want bearandcub's suggestion now

WhispersOfWickedness · 25/04/2013 17:05

Eleanor or Alice for a girl Smile

Not sure about boys Confused I thought George but possibly not if Charles is planning to use it Hmm

I think they're having a girl though Grin

Bue · 25/04/2013 16:52

Elizabeth is WAY too much pressure. I think that will be a middle name along with Diana and maybe Caroline (for Carole).

I think Alice, Alexandra or possible Mary for a girl.
George or Arthur for a boy.

Bearandcub · 25/04/2013 16:38

I hope it's Queenie for a girl and Kingsley for a boy.

Queen Queenie
King Kingsley

FreedomOfTheTess · 25/04/2013 16:27

Diana isn't regal, and that's why however much some people want to see it, it won't feature as a first name.

Fine as a middle name, but if this first born is a girl, she won't be Diana. Queen Diana doesn't work.

Gazza - no you didn't make it up, her middle name was Frances.

gazzalw · 25/04/2013 14:52

ThenWeTakeBerlin, well researched! Some of those names feature in the Royal Family too so probably increased likelihood that they could be picked. Wasn't Diana's middle name Frances or have I made that up?

I think that although they both are conformists, they do their own thing too (as long as it doesn't rock the boat) so wouldn't be surprised if they don't sneak in some Middleton family names!

Sorry to say it but Diana just isn't a regal name IMHO!

fussychica · 25/04/2013 14:23

Alexandra Diana Elizabeth

James Charles Louis (for Mountbatten)

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 25/04/2013 14:03

Those are lovely names GaryBuseysTeeth.

I had heard that too about Charles picking the name George. I thought it was because it would give pleasure to his mother, admittedly would be odd referring to him as King George when all along he's been Prince Charles.

SconeRhymesWithGone · 25/04/2013 13:17

Is it true that Charles won't be King Charles when he becomes King, that he's going to pick himeself another name to be King Somethingelse?
There were rumors that he had discussed the possibility privately, but his office has denied that he did.

Don't be surprised if Kate's family aren't honoured at all. Traditionally, names from the "non Royal" side of the family don't feature, neither William nor Harry's names feature Diana's father's name (Edward John) at all.

Harry's first middle name is Charles, which is Diana's brother's name, but that was obviously after Prince Charles and not Diana's brother.

Alexander

Cordelia

Logic being, I'm due in August & they're our two front runners.
Although a little part of me wishes for Ickle Princess Mackenzie-Mae.

ThenWeTakeBerlin · 25/04/2013 12:28

Kate's birth name is Catherine Elizabeth.
Her dad is Michael Francis, mum is Carole Elizabeth, Pippa is Phillipa Charlotte and brother is James William.

Any of these names could feature.

Just wiki'd, I'm supposed to be working Smile

thermalsinapril · 25/04/2013 12:19

Alexandra Elizabeth Diana

Alfred Henry Charles

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 25/04/2013 12:11

Adelaide perhaps with Caroline and definitely an Elizabeth in there somewhere.

James (nn Jamie) Henry Arthur Charles

JugglingFromHereToThere · 25/04/2013 11:52

Girl - Alice Sophie Rose Caroline Elizabeth (and possibly Phillipa ?)
Boy - Edward William Charles Philip Henry (and what's Kate's Dad's name ?)

(they usually have plenty and include everyone - but something more individual but still traditional as first name !)

I don't think they'll include Charlotte in the mix after watching the very sad story of Princess Charlotte's life told by Lucy Thingy the other day on TV.

Not sure Carole will feature.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 25/04/2013 11:45

Kelsey. For a boy or a girl. Grin

Or La-A.

Hullygully · 25/04/2013 11:40

Charlotte Elizabeth-Mae

FreedomOfTheTess · 25/04/2013 11:40

Given that monarchs don't have to use their given name when they ascend to the throne (I believe Charles is planning on being George VII), I'd like them be a bit more creative in the first name spot, as the child will have plenty of normal middle names which they can use as their monarch name.

I'd love to see a Prince Augustine or Princess Georgiana.

It won't happen though, I know that.

NB: I'm due in mid-July, like Kate is said to be, and I'm hoping I have mine first. That way, even if they use Mary (the name we're planning on), at least we'll have got there first! Wink
