Which ones would you pick? And, if you're feeling particularly generous, why?

Are there any others you could suggest based on my likes above?

Love Lyra, not keen on the other 3 girls names. Prefer Violet to Viola. How about Iris or Jennifer?

George or Arthur are both lovely. Not keen in Benjamin and Robin is more of a girls name to me.

LOve Bejamin too - not a fan of Robin for a boy to be honest.

Girls:

Jemima ... Unsure of this , the puddleduck is too obvious I think
Penelope ... Quite like this , pretty name , easy to shorten
Viola .. Love this , very sweet and pretty
Lyra ... No . It's awful

Maybe Gemma ? Lucinda ?

Boys:

George.. Love this (my son is George )
Arthur.. From Eastenders ?
Benjamin ... Lovely , good strong name
Robin .. Love this too .

Maybe Michael ? Andrew ?

Girls:

Jemima - the best name ever
Penelope - I also love this
Viola - Quite nice
Lyra - Not as keen

Other names along the same lines...Felicity, Verity, Ramona, Sienna?

Boys:

George - I would use as a middle name
Arthur - Excellent name. Would have been on our list if it didn't sound daft with our surname.
Benjamin - Meh
Robin - I love this but can't stand nn Rob. Would this bother you?

Other names along the same lines...Dominic, Henry, Edward, Felix?

Viola - provided the emphasis is on the Vi (Sharespearean character) not the o - string instrument. Like Jemima too - obvious how to spell and pronounce it.

Jemima IMO is your best girls name followed by Lyra (altho I read Lycra to start with :-/)
I prefer Ben to Benjamin but its the best there. My DP loves robin but I hate it shortened to rob. If you can deal with this then its ok.
Why about Thea, Faith, Esme?

How would you pronounce Viola?

The only ones I don't love are George (v popular, big boring dare I say it) and Jemima (not sure why... Puddleduck?!)

George Arthur and Benjamin are all quite a bit more popular than Robin if that matters to you either way?

People will often pronounce Viola wrong, if that matters to you!

I like them all. Nice names.

I love Penelope because I think of Penelope Cruz. Viola is pretty too.

I like George and Benjamin.

I'd go for Penelope because it's my mum's name. Not Lyra because I didn't like those books. Viola okay because Shakespeare but I don't actually like the sound of it much. Not Jemima because it reminds me of the bit of Jurassic Park where the rex bursts through the trees and eats a gallimimus, and I used to have nightmares about that scene.

George and Arthur seem to be far too popular these days so I'd not go for either of those. And also there's an Arthur in EastEnders at the moment and one of my criteria when choosing a name recently was "Can't be the name of an existing Ender". Robin sounds like a girl's name to me. Benjamin's good though, sounds nice, don't know how popular it is but I don't come across many of them.
