Oh I do like Sarah and Rebekah but we are like the most biblical sounding family on the earth at the moment, despite being completely and totally non-religious. So we were hoping for a non-biblical, or at least not markedly biblical name. Emma (green) a good friend's name, it would feel odd.
Think everyone's a bit synaesthetic tbh but some people its more marked... most people have a sense of space or size in days of the week, for example. However, not everyone confuses when they have an appointment because of the colour of the afternoon it's on and the colour of the number. I regularly fuck up my Tuesday afternoons on this basis, HAVE to write them down...
Anyway,
Naomi, pale blue fading to green, I like it
Lily, navy blue and white
Hannah yellow but a bit dirty? So okay but unusable for me
Elsie, green and orange, I don't like it for that
Sorrell, the orange of autumn, very unusual and that's why I like it so much
Belle, orange with yellow, but not in a good way
Nell, pale blue and faded yellow, nice but very very soft
Since you've been so helpful LeChat it would be mean of me to refuse to colour a short list of boys' names... but you should be warned that the next synaesthete will be along with a very different interpretation... FWIW Reuben James is brilliant blue and yellow, very striking and reassuring, my absolute fave colour blue. Robin and Rowan are close but don't have the same depth and Robin has a bit of brown. But you just can't do a Reuben, and a Robin or Rowan, no matter how much I want to...
