What the heck do i do with the surname Bate

I have a lovely surname, one i have no intention of parting with even when I get the ring on my finger. I am minded for our off spring to have my OH's surname, but unfortunately this is Bate.What names can I come up with to soften the Bate?

My Grandma's surname was Bate. She was Floretta - in case you needed ideas Wink
