...a confident, successful young woman, what would you name her?
I have completely pinched this idea from an earlier thread about naming a baby girl who was handed to you - but it's easy to think of cute baby girl names!

Oooh, cross posted with XBenedict!

ThreeBeeOneGee · 02/04/2013 18:17

My daughter's name has been mentioned four times on here and one of her middle names has been mentioned lots of times too.

Her other middle name is Elizabeth, which works too.

Marianne for some reason. Not a name I ever considered, although I ended up with sons anyway, but was first I thought of.

NorksAreMessy · 02/04/2013 17:42

Nobody has EVER met a nasty Helen {biased}
When she was little she liked reading and writing and thinking
Now she is bigger, she is just the same :)

lottiegarbanzo · 02/04/2013 17:03

Giselle or Estelle perhaps?

lottiegarbanzo · 02/04/2013 17:00

Petra, Saoirse (sp?)

I'm wanting to go for a G but not sure what it is... not Greta or Geraldine or Genevieve...

Anna, Catherine, Honor, Elizabeth

Really, a 20-something is probably Emily, Zoe, Jessica or Sophie, from recent experience!

Abigail, Hannah, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Sarah

Grin norks

Its funny really, I have a Hannah, a Katy and an Abbie but I wouldn't consider them grown up names, or those of confident successful women.

To me they are little girl names suited to kids who like dancing and singing and digging and climbing. I can't imagine a time when I will ever accept them as 'grown up' names.

To me Helen seems like such a grown up name (again I don't know why, I only had 7 seconds to think) but to people who have little 'Helens' they probably feel the same way as I do.

Great idea. Lots of people said when we named dd1 "what a great name! She could do anything." As opposed to all the Ellies and Rosies I suppose (ducks and runs for cover from all the mothers of Ellies and Rosies)

It's not the name that matters, it's coming from homes that value education and making the most of what life offered that maters.
