Hard one...how to get Kitt without using Christopher...

Or Christian etc...
There must be a long name with a 'kit' beginning middle or ending.
But I can't find one.
I like unusual names,Cornish,old English,old Norse,Celtic,or just underused Names. (I don't want an 1980's name though Wink )

It may have to be a rather a tenuous connection.
If anyone can find one,it'll be you lot. Thanks

I too think of a 'kit' as in tool-kit, sports-kit etc when I see/hear kit.

I know of a Kit. That's his full name. Although I thought Kit was short for Christopher normally.

I have got the same dilemma because I also love kit (not sure about double t though).
The other one I like is Pip, as in great expectations. But not keen on Phillip and not sure you can be a grown up called Pip, I do however know two grown up Kits.

Anyhoo,I've decided it'd be Kit or Kitto,if it's going to be kit...IYSWIM.
I've given up trying to find a long name I like enough.

My personal opinion is that if you want a child to be named a specific thing, then put that on the birth cert. Otherwise the shortening that ends up sticking may not be the name you wanted. Eg, your Christopher-called-Kit may end up by secondary school as Christopher-called-Christy leaving you gritting your teeth as that was the shortening you always hated kind-of-thing.

I have a name sorted for a girl,and I don't much care for Katherine anyhow...
I'm going with Just Kit,or Kitto...maybe.
