One week to go and STILL not sure ... can you vote on my shortlist please??

Want something not too popular, not too out there .. this is our shortlist ..

Francesca (current frontrunner)
Robyn
Naomi
Belinda (too eighties?)
Louisa

Benedict
Jonah (but DP says he doesn't like this)
Robin
Tristan
Theo
Michael (like Mikey as a nn, but hate Mickey)

Francesca is a great name.

For boys I've always liked Benedict, but was put off giving it to a DS because someone mumsnet said they knew someone at school who was nicknamed Bendydick!

Michael is a classic boys name for me and would be my first choice. :)

Belinda, Louisa, Naomi.
Robyn is a bit dated for women of 40 somethng in the USA, so it needs a longer rest. Francesca is very harsh. Most Italian names are beautiful and lyrical but Francesca is all spikey corners.

Francesca top for girls, Louisa second, followed by Naomi.
For boys, Theo best, then Benedict, then Michael.
The ones I haven't mentioned, I don't like.

I like Francesca and Naomi for a girl, and Robin and Theo for a boy. But I agree why not keep all your short-list and wait to meet baby, his/her face will most likely tell you better than any of us!

if you feel it's not quite right my next favourite is Lousia.

Naomi with mn of Louisa.

Love Robin and Tristan so would go with either of those with mn of Benedict or Michael.

What part of the country are you in?
Different accents make names more or less attractive.

It was only when I was in the USA and they tried to pronounce my name as I do, in my local accent, that I realised it didn't sound too great! (my DM had a different accent in which it sounded much nicer)

Just thought I'd add that to furher complicate matters Grin

Francesca and Robyn are gorgeous girls names, I love them both, in that order. I don't know how you are with nn, if you don't like them I would choose Robyn.
Not keen on your other choices though.

I love Jonah wanted for our DC but doesn't work with our surname, Robin was our second choice for DC3, it was probably my first choice but DH got to name him as I was in shock!

I really like Theo, again sound rubbish with our surname Angry but it is much more popular than Robin and Jonah.
Not keen on the others.

sorry, don't like Naomi, Belinda or Robyn
Tristan is awfully wimpy
if you call someone a Jonah, it means they are unlucky or a jinx - not a good association
