It's hard going choosing names when your friends and family have so many children and hence names already used! Tonight dh and I came up with3 names that both if us would 'consider' lol! What do you think of them? Middle name would be James .

Ds has an Old Testament name... So very open to another . I want to choose a name that everyone likes but few people have chosen and isn't too 'out there'. Not asking much am I ??!Grin

Micah fabulous. Also a great read.

Still18atheart · 14/03/2013 19:31

Like Gus and Toby a lot.

Don't like Micah because I don't know how to pronounce it.

Shr0edinger · 14/03/2013 19:24

oh it's a bit 'sleb' and trendy. I can see its appeal in certain circles though.

I prefer Michael.

Nicknamegrief · 14/03/2013 19:17

Micah is pronounced my-kah and means to be like God.

It's Old Testament.

We've had nothing but nice comments but that's what I'd expect once the child has the name rather than when its a pre birth conversation.

We happen to know a Micah James (after we had named DC) too.

We obviously like it but I also like Tobias too.

ZolaBuddleia · 14/03/2013 19:16

Not keen on Micah either, it feels female, even though I know it isn't.

Love Gus, Tobias is ok, but not mad keen on Toby.

Ttcnumero3 · 14/03/2013 19:12

Micah is a biblical name....

I like Toby and Angus (Gus) but Micah sounds really stupid, sorry. What sort of name is Micah?

kelou75 · 14/03/2013 12:24

Toby- my favourite I think its a lovely name, Love it!
Angus- ok but not for me, really lovely if you live in scotland, or are of Scottish heritage, family name.
Micah- Dont like

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 14/03/2013 12:23

Am sure you could just put Toby on his bc.

I don't think it's especially kind or helpful putting the boot in when people raise questions about choices, I'd rather avoid posting on a contentious thread chicken.

Laquila · 14/03/2013 12:20

Is Micah pronounced My-kah or Mee-kah? I really like both Toby and Angus - if we didn't have a friend called the latter I'd consider it for ours (not that I don't like him - it just might be a bit weird!)

Ttcnumero3 · 14/03/2013 12:05

Oh and thank you all for being do polite! Have read some very harsh comments on baby name threads recently! Smile

We are in Scotland and Angus is quite popular around here. I love Gus I think but of the three it goes least well with our surname : too many s sounds.. Still think its doable. I am favouring Toby just now but don't know if it is sufficient on it's own or if it needs to have a longer form on the BC ? Don't know if I like Tobias!

Angus is fab.

forgetmenots · 14/03/2013 09:32

Angus is my choice if DC is a DS, like Toby a lot too. Not keen on Micah!

Caitycat · 14/03/2013 08:52

I like Toby, don't mind Gus, really don't like Micah (sorry).

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 14/03/2013 01:13

They all 'work' for me.

Toby or Tobias has a posh boy ring to it which wouldn't be a problem as far as I'm concerned.

I'm in Scotland so Angus wouldn't be unheard of up here. Not that you need a Scottish connection to use it.

Micah makes a nice change from Michael!

They all go well with James.
