Really love the name Pippi, but would I be setting my child up for a lifetime of long stocking jokes? Since Pippa, Poppy etc are considered useable could Pippi be?

Philippa with nn pip sounds nice

BeeBopDingALing · 11/03/2013 18:31

My first thought was long stocking. Do you like Pippa?

pipsy76 · 11/03/2013 17:02

sounds good to me Wink

That's the first thing i thought of when I saw the name.

But are kids her age going to make the same association? I don't think so?

I don't think it's a particularly good name anyways personally. But if the only thing putting you off is the long stockings thing then I would still use it.

MerryMarigold · 11/03/2013 16:50

or Cece (as in an 's' sound)

MerryMarigold · 11/03/2013 16:50

Mimi, Cici

Shock I didn't notice the pee angle for teasing Blush can you suggest something in a similar style?

I just thought Longstocking. It's not like there are any other Pippi's to compete. You could possible call her Philippa and Pippi for short (at a push).

FireOverBabylon · 11/03/2013 16:45

Sorry, don't like it. think it's the equivalent of "wee" in a couple fo foreign languages as well, to add to the fun.

VenusRising · 11/03/2013 16:43

Ne fait pas pipi dans l'eau.

It means piss in French. Don't do it.

Beehatch · 11/03/2013 16:42

I'd be dubious just from the pee-pee angle.
