Sister for Evelyn ..?

Hi. Not long to go until our DD gets a little sibling. Both me and my other half have decided on a boy's name, but we're a bit stuck on girl's names. This is a sort of short list but we're not 100% convinced by any of them.

Audrey
April
Alice
Norah
Laura
Georgia

Anyone got any more ideas - or can anyone make a persuasive case for any of the ones above?

Thanks for any replies!

Thanks a lot for all the ideas - some great ones in there. Beatrice is nice, but I think is being vetoed by my other half (along with Alice) which is a shame. Anyone remember House of Elliott, about the two sisters who ran a tailors in the 20's? I think they were called Evelyn and Beatrice. Josephone has been vetoed too. I liked it though (nn Posey is ace).

WormCanner, we pronounce it Eve-lyn, rather then Ever-lyn. Although lots of people call her Ever-lyn (and we don't really mind).

Iris has been added to the shortlist, as has Violet. Thanks for those!

I have an Evelyn, if DS had been a girl he would have been Verity or Delilah or Miriam.

Stixswhichtwizzle · 07/03/2013 22:23

April or Alice

MortifiedAdams · 07/03/2013 20:13

I was just think that Evelyn would be my number one name for a futire DD. My DD has Alice as a MN so I think you have great taste Grin her first name is Meg.

I really like Audrey, Alice and adore Norah but prefer it spelt Nora. Laura is lovely but Lara is gorgeous.

pixi2 · 07/03/2013 20:00

My first thought would be Josephine.

Possibly Georgiana.

If then you want nn you could have Evie and Joey or Evie and George.

MacCrackles · 07/03/2013 19:53

Love Audrey. Hazel also lovely.

WormCanner · 07/03/2013 18:50

How are you pronouncing Evelyn - as two syllables or three?

Pixieonthemoor · 07/03/2013 18:42

Evie & Georgie. Sweet!

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 06/03/2013 18:37

Hazel (inspired by poster ^^!)

OkayHazel · 06/03/2013 16:43

Norah! Like the spelling Nora too!

MoonHare · 06/03/2013 16:36

Audrey or Alice from your list. Love the suggestion of Beatrice too.

Other ideas; Lydia, Lillian, Anita, Iris, Verity, Phoebe, Florence, Harriett.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 06/03/2013 15:10

Laura is pretty, Alice is lovely.
