Or an interesting Claudia, or a laid-back Lydia.

Any others?

I know a terrible Josh, and an 'orrible Oscar. I also find Olivias objectionable.

Re violent wankergate, I know this is a children's name forum, but it's not being read by actual children is it?

thegreylady · 01/03/2013 20:24

Josh.....hmmmm I was a teacher and have met a few who were less than lovely :)
I've only known one Claudia-a very dull colleague.
I have never known a Lydia.
I try not to judge by name but I have had a few dire experiences with pupils named Dale,Lee,Shane and Jason [taught from 1965 to 1998]
Girls-no names stand out although there were enough naughty ones :)

ENormaSnob · 01/03/2013 20:13

Never met an Elizabeth that I've liked.

Never met an Alex that wasn't very pretty.

Never met a sue or a helen that I didnt get on with.

Never met a John that wasn't outgoing.

rockinastocking · 01/03/2013 20:04

Children??? Oops...

rockinastocking · 01/03/2013 20:03

I've never met a Chantal who wasn't an utter cowbag.

Gugglebum · 01/03/2013 20:00

I've never met a Lauren that wasn't pretty. I've never met a warm friendly Hilary.

I am not a teacher. And people shouldn't assume anything.

Looks like my relationship is effecting all areas of my life again, and I'm again affected by what a man did to me. Evidently I'm not as healed as I thought I was.

In summation: I won't be using the name Ben.

My bad impression of Ben comes from the only one I have ever known. My abusive ex boyfriend. I'm sorry this offends Ben parents, but I could never touch the name because of this. Not when the man beat me within an inch of my life.

People seriously have to realize that people with bad impressions of names are not talking about children. They are talking about their life experiences. I will forever associate 'Ronaldo' with the football player, and Ben with the hurt he caused me.

I'm sorry, evidently this was not the place to discuss such issues. I'm not of the impression that ALL Ben's are horrid, but mine was, and so the name has been irreversibly tarnished.

lljkk, you are very wrong with your theory. You need to gather far more data points.

Are Jessica's really mental? Confused

I know a lot of boys called Josh...not all of them are lovely.

ReluctantBeing · 01/03/2013 18:50

I agree about Oscars!

ReluctantBeing · 01/03/2013 18:49

I've taught plenty of unpleasant Joshes. It's a naughty boy name in my books.

OkayHazel · 01/03/2013 18:47

I'm not a Hazel.

My username refers to Hazel Grace Lancaster, a fictional 16 year old terminal lung cancer patient.

I think it would be nice to have a light hearted thread about our own personal experience.

I have a theory that all Oscars have unpleasant mothers. Based on personal experience. Am still gathering data points, though :).

usualsuspect · 01/03/2013 17:34

Hazels are a bit odd I find Wink

usualsuspect · 01/03/2013 17:34

Ugh.

pictish · 01/03/2013 17:01

I have! In fact, I would go as far as to say that in my area, Josh is a fairly good indicator of wee horror status.

I'm pretty sure these things vary from area to arrea though, so maybe it's a nice boy name where you are. It isn't here.

All my Josh's are wonderful.

Ben's on the other hand, are violent wankers.
