What do you think about the name Lacey? I think its really pretty... but have heard a few not so positive opinions on it! We already have a DD called Holly.

There are several worlds of difference between Lacey and Lucy. Strange.

ZumbaZara · 25/02/2013 07:03

What about Poppy or Daisy instead.

raisah · 24/02/2013 21:25

Bit chavvy, sorry. How about Lucy, Lucia ir Lucinda?

nectarini1983 · 24/02/2013 20:31

It's very sweet. Better than Mabel, Nancy , Betsy or somiw of the other shockers out there at the mo.

insanityscratching · 24/02/2013 18:09

No, don't like but Lucy is lovely and works well with Holly.

Olgathebrickshed · 24/02/2013 17:59

Frightful.

FellatioNels0n · 24/02/2013 17:57

Horrible.

TidyDancer · 24/02/2013 17:57

It is common in that lots of people have the name, at least IME. That shouldn't be a reason to be put off though.

And it does make me think porn star as well.

eachtigertires · 24/02/2013 17:18

I like Lacey :)

Sashapineapple · 24/02/2013 17:13

It reminds me of Lacey Turner of Eastenders as others have said.
I don't think there's anything wrong with it, it's not really my cup of tea but imo is much better than Lucy (boring and dated) or Maisie (a dogs name) so go for it, it's a little different which isn't a bad thing but not out there.

Acandlelitshadow · 24/02/2013 17:04

It's always sounded a bit pornstar to me especially so now I've heard it teamed with Banghard.

Lucy is very close in sound, lovely and goes much better with Holly.

forgetmenots · 24/02/2013 16:39

Not keen on it sorry - what about Lucie, Maisie, Betsy?

Can see where you're going with names to go with Holly (much nicer than Lacey IMO) - maybe even something like Macy?

I was wondering if there were any names for which Lacey might be a pet name. I thought Solace might be one of those "virtue" names, but am surprised to find no examples of it.

I suppose there is Alice at a push.

WormCanner · 24/02/2013 14:18

I just think of lacey underwear. It's not what I call a proper name.

Fallenangle · 24/02/2013 14:10

Partly depends on your surname. If your surname is also a noun it might not go with it. Lacey Hatt or Lacey Stocking for instance.

ByTheSea · 24/02/2013 14:03

It's my cat's name.

DuttyWine · 24/02/2013 14:02

I like it but lots of babies round where I am have that name so as long as you don't mind the possibility of it being 'common' but that might just be my area!

Awful. It's the name of the actress Lacey Turner who played Stacey in Eastenders.

applepieinthesky · 24/02/2013 10:32

I think it's ok but doesn't go with Holly.

usualsuspect · 24/02/2013 09:31

Only twats would describe it as 'chavvy' or 'common' and who cares what they think.

squoosh · 24/02/2013 02:50

It's not 'vile' as someone has described. It's nice enough, goes well with Holly but is the kind of name that will get slated on Mumsnet. Who gives a fuck about that. If you love it then use it.

TwinTum · 23/02/2013 23:30

It is the type of name like Jayden that some would describe as chavvy.

NippyDrips · 23/02/2013 23:29

I love it but took it off our list after a lot of negative comments. Most people think it is common.
