Can't decide if I like this idea or not! The girl name we like best for dc3 has the same initials as DD. Wondering whether to pick to a boy's name with the same initials as DS.

Keep thinking it would be so convenient for labelling uniform!

But possibly also awkward with mail etc.

my sister and I have the same first initial. The only post DCs ever get is birthday cards, so unless they are twins, that's not a problem.

I think DS and I might have opened each others post once or twicein 16 years of living together and even then it was only you have 55p in your savings account or a Christmas card.

Modern DCs are hardly going to send each other love letters, the FB, text or ring.

Anything medical or for scholl always says to the parent of anyway.

there's nothing wrong with it, but I personally wouldn't do it.
I like to know that the post that arrives can't be mixed up if the middle initial isn't used.

I mix my cat and ky DS up all the time Blush they have a similar type of name, but not the same initial!

DH and DS already share an initial too.

Hmm. Still dithering!

you will continually be calling them by the wrong name. (mind you, dds have different initials and i still mix up their names, so...)

simplesusan · 21/02/2013 14:03

I think it is fine.

Disclaimer: None of of have the same initials so I have no idea if it can cause problems with post etc.

ilovepowerhoop · 21/02/2013 14:00

My dd has initials EET and ds is EKT (including middle names) i.e. their first names start with the same letter. Mind you, me and dh have the same letter at the start of our names too.
