Because they've never been fashionable, so they won't date. They're fairly classless too.

Cole is my fav which is why DS is called it :) If you want a 'proper' name on the birth cert it comes from Nicholas, i didn't use Nicholas because some of my older family members said they could call him Nicholas or Nick.

The only down side is people commenting on how it's one of these 'new names' when actually it can be dated back to the middle ages! There are also a couple of Coles in the cow boy films.

I've always really liked James, lovely classic name great with many surnames and suits all ages.Didn't use it though as someone else in family got there first.
And also, Johnny & Rufus Grin

I love Zachary (I have one! He is always Zachary never Zac), also love Gabriel, Xavier and Atticus -though don't think we could get away with it so would never use it!

Huge fan of Rowan here as well.

ItsallisnowaFeegle · 21/02/2013 10:40

Hugo is another name I love

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 20/02/2013 20:54

Rowan - because I think it has quite hippy vibes whilst still being manly

Laurence - because it's a good strong name but shortens to Laurie which is cute and could even be Teddy (Little Women)

Barnaby - just love it

Asher - sounds nice, shortens nicely and a bit 'different'

Bartholomew - sweet and nice nn

Thaddeus - loved it since I was a teenager reading Stephen King

Roland - again to do with King
