Thoughts on Santiago, Leonardo, Rafael, Nicholas and Oliver

Best friend is due in March with an Iago - suits the family to a T. Nn for Santiago is also Santi, also cool.

Not a fan of the others except Rafael, but in its full form, definitely not Rafa.

Lol.. Fabio gets shortened to Fabi?????? I thought it was Fab

Santiago is incredibly cool, but you'd need to be able to carry it off - agree with Bunny's description of 'badass'! Like Rafael and Nicholas (nn Nico is cute). Oliver is just dull, and incredibly popular right now. And Fabio - completely, absolutely not.

Leonardo.... I love the nn Leo (Leo pron = spanish) or Leo ( L-ee-o = English)

Santiago... Makes total sense in spanish

Rafael... Nickname: Ralph.. no way no way no way RAFA! I may have a problem when I go to Peru though... they will all assume he is a Rafa

Oliver... My favourite in English... i love nn Ollie

Nicholas... mmm... still nice but I think I prefer the others now.ow

How about Fabio?? Just read that!

Santiago is an excellent name.

Leonardo and Rafael are okay though I wouldn't choose then myself.

Nicholas is one of the dullest names ever. Oluver quite nice but very popular.

Call him Santiago!

Oh I loooovvveee Nicholas, but I'm biased because its DHs name, I think its beautiful.

Really not keen on Santiago I think its a little bit arrogant calling your child 'saint' something although this is just me and in Spanish culture its very different with all the Jesus' etc. it also makes me think of nasty Iago from Othello.

Oliver - lovely and classic.

Rafael is nice but I don't like the nn Rafa and all the little Rafaels I know in Spain are nicknamed this. I always think it sounds like a dog barking!

Leonardo is nice and Leo is a good nn!

Lucia, would Leo be a good compromise as you like Oliver and your partner likes santiago?

I am biased as I have a Leonardo, but it is fab and Leo is lovely.

Nicholas - Completely wet
Oliver - Possibly my least favourite boys name ever. Just a horrible sound.
