Struggling with unusual boys names

Welly558 · 19/02/2013 23:10

Hello,
So, if we have a girl we like Luna Violet.
We have a few boys names but non that I hugely love.
So far we have
Dexter
Ezra
Jude
Samson
Jonah

Anyone have any ideas for nice boys names? To go with a two syllable surname ending in Ee sound.

I don't watch Tv so didn't know the Being Human reference to Merrick - I know it as a hill. Place names can be good - especially for boys - e.g. Devon, Ross etc

or, how about:

Dorian
Alrid
Caleb

Ooo 'bad luck'?! I don't know. Due to the whale issue or something else?
Ha yes I suppose Amish names then.Although DH would die if that was suggested. I love Merrick but DH associates it with Being Human.
I like Abe.We have a Noah in the family :-\

Love Samson and Jude. Jonah is a 'bad luck' name isn't it?

Do you mean, like, Amish names?

What about

Noah
John
Lemuel
Abraham
Gabriel?

Galen
Piper
Torin
Merrick

yawn Seeker, that's another thread. You do realise whatever you call your child, someone else could find a derogatory nickname. I could call them Sarah but if they were fat, skinny, short, tall, curly haired,pale...they would get an unkind nickname to suit that.
We had a girl called Ellen at school,a relatively simple 'normal' name. She got called 'Smellen'.It doesn't even make much sense but it followed her. There was a Dominic who would be called DomiDick.I find that much more offensive than being called a Loon.
But I guess you must love all my boys names seeing as you entirely ignored them, despite them being the thread subject.
Thank you everyone.Yeah maybe unusual wasn't the right adjective. More Kings of Leon ish is perhaps what we meant haha.Quite strong names.
DH loved Elijah but I just think Elijah Wood. I love Jesse but DH doesn't. Some nice ones to think of there though, thank you.Boys are much trickier for me to think of but that's because I think its a DD!

Romymum · 20/02/2013 08:44

How about Silver?

MrsJamin · 20/02/2013 08:41

2 of your names are great but not that unusual: Dexter - no 79 in 2012 in UK, Jude - No 81. I know a Jonah too. Just in case you desperately want it to be very unusual. How about Levi?

wiltingfast · 20/02/2013 08:18

Senan
Cormac
Cathal (caw hel)
