DD2 is due on less than a week, and we don't have a name. We must have gone through every name in existence but are totally uninspired.

DD1 is called Aurelia.

Middle names will be Caroline Penelope.

We quite like Isabella but dont feel as though it's 'the one' like Aurelia was. May end up settling with it if we can't find anythig else, but that feels wrong.

I've had two other threads in baby names already and there were lots of great suggestions, but nothing that stuck. I don't are about a name being popular or different, just want to find the right one!

Other 'quite like' names are Claudia, Francesca, Harriet and Natalia. I don't feel like any of them are right.

Please help me!

Pepper/Peppa/Peppy is sweet too :)

nappyaddict · 21/02/2013 00:08

I love Penelope with the nicknames Nell, Posie, Pippi, Pippin, Penn, Lulu.

For middle names what about Edith, Elsa, Madeline?

Marcheline · 16/02/2013 12:54

Sorry Horatia!

DH has decided that he likes Penelope as a first name, So I get to choose another middle name. I like lots of the Greek goddess names so eill choose something with a lovely meaning for her. Thalia or Xanthe, maybe?

Theia, Selene, Hestia, Agatha, Astraia, Jocasta, Callista, Cassandra, Cleo, Larisa, Persephone, Sophia, Thaleia, Xanthe are all Greek names.

HoratiaWinwood · 14/02/2013 21:28

WHICH?! Don't leave us hanging...!

Marcheline · 14/02/2013 21:01

Thank you everyone, some really lovely suggestions. I especially like all of the Greek names. Its funny, DD1 has two Latin-root names and it looks like DD2 will get two names with Greek meanings!

Aurelia is French so what about Amelie, Cecilia, Cecile?

I like Verity, Violet, Philippa, Clementine, Eliza, would go beautifully with Aurelia

ZolaBuddleia · 14/02/2013 11:55

Has anyone suggested Celeste? Gives CC as her first two initials, nice nn.

Lilith? Hebe? Would love to be brave enough to name a child Biba (loves 60s names). Beulah?

Perdita ?

This may sound like an odd suggestion, but here is a list of Emmerdale characters past & present, they've had some more unusual names over the years that you might like HERE

Good luck ... & remember, you don't need the name for a few weeks after she's born, she may just look like a 'xyz' after a few days when she stops looking so red and cross!!

Angelina7 · 14/02/2013 00:34

I know a Felicita, it's quite unusual but pretty :-)

My DD is Violet. It's just such a beautiful name. Yes stick an n in and it spells Violent but I can honestly say noone has ever suggested it to me.

I'd really consider Tulip too but flower names could get a bit out of hand if I had lots of girls!

Seraphina is super pretty and goes with your DD. Lavinia also sprung out as pretty.

lucywiltshire · 13/02/2013 23:17

Ruling out names ending in Y really narrows it down doesn't it! I have the opposite problem as names ending in the Y sound work best with our surname DD1 is Poppy). Lavender is lovely but could be shortened to Lav which is not so great! If you like flower or shrub names, what about Tulip? Such a gorgeous flower and yet never used as a name. Same goes for Snowdrop!!! Why is it that loads of flowers are used as names but not all?

What about Kinvara? I want it if babba due in 10 days time is another DD. We are thinking Hope Kinvara.
