Eleska?

Not even pregnant yet but already thinking of names for our 2nd child if its a girl.

We have DD 20 months called Isla and think that Eleska is on the same par as Isla, but just wanted to know what others thought (although it would'nt change my mind lol)

Sorry, perhaps it's Dutch or Nordic, I don't know If not, it either sounds made-up or like a weird way of saying "Alaska". What about Corin or Morag?

mojo1981 · 30/01/2013 22:34

lol oh no! lol i know someone who has a little girl called Eleska, she is about 8 or 9 now so have had it "banging Around" for a while.

Appreciate your opinion though :)

Electra is nicer

Yay4may · 31/01/2013 00:05

I think Isla and Eleska are too similar

FlipFlopFloss · 31/01/2013 00:20

Sounds a made up name to me.

HoneyandRum · 01/02/2013 12:50

I think Eleska is lovely and not too similar to Isla

amck5700 · 01/02/2013 13:51

I like the look and sound of Eleska.

shoobidoo · 01/02/2013 14:07

"Sounds a made up name to me."

Surely, every single name has been made up at some point. And new names are constantly added e.g. lots of nicknames as standalone names these days. Or animal names e.g. Tiger, Bear etc, or flowers etc.

Rhubarbgarden · 01/02/2013 22:54

She'd spend her life saying "no, not Alaska...". It also makes me think of escalators. It's a no from me.

OutragedFromLeeds · 02/02/2013 06:10

Too similar to Isla.

Sounds like Alaska with a kre8tiv spelling. I bet you'll get asked if she was conceived in Alaska.

It sounds like what a child would call an escalator.

mathanxiety · 02/02/2013 06:12

Sure it isn't Eliska you have heard? If so it is Czech, a form of Elizabeth. I love it.

mathanxiety · 02/02/2013 06:19

(pronounced Elishka)

JumpingJackSprat · 02/02/2013 06:51

i quite like alaska as a name.not so much eleska but its still pretty and unusual. better than boring top ten names.

Yes, it sounds like a Kiwi saying Alaska.

What about Eléa or Elena?

WhispersOfWickedness · 02/02/2013 07:56

How about Alexa?
