Robin?

Found out yesterday DC2 is actually DS2 so think we're going for Robin (middle name possibly Elliot?)

What are peoples opinions? Any hideous associations we've not thought of?

DS1 has the name of the Seseame Street grouch (or a dogs name!) second name Jack

I like Robin for a boy. All the ones I know are Scottish.

Littlecherublegs · 18/01/2013 12:41

Strangely I really like Robyn for a girl but am not a fan at all of Robin for a boy, sorry!
I only know of one (who has a brother Gordon) and he's about 30; dont know any 'baby' Robin's.
Elliot is ok though.

PukeCatcher · 18/01/2013 12:52

I love Robin, great name.

Beamur · 18/01/2013 12:54

I know a few Robins, various ages. I like the nn Rob but the name Robin I'm not that keen on.

MrsJohnDeere · 18/01/2013 12:55

Lovely!

(Not keen on Elliot)

Jemimapuddleduk · 18/01/2013 13:01

Love it and would use it for our baby due in March, unfortunately my Dh isn't as keen.

notso · 18/01/2013 13:07

Love it, love it, love it, was in the final two for DS3 only reasons for not using were we really wanted Robert for a middle name and our surname has a similar sound.

specialknickers · 18/01/2013 16:10

Love it, really wanted this for ds but couldn't talk dh round (he wanted Robert and I wasn't keen, 'twas a war of attrition)... Still on the list for dc2 though... Sorry dh!

I think it's a lovely name - very classic and not at all over used.

I like it much more on a boy than a girl, but I hated having a unisex name at school so would avoid them for both sexes. Not universal, I'm sure.

RillaBlythe · 18/01/2013 20:01

I love Robin for a boy. Don't like Robyn for a girl at all. Robin is definitely on my boy list.

SparklyandHappyMe2013 · 18/01/2013 20:03

Love Robin. If DD2 ended up a boy she was going to be Robin David. Saying that we are thinking of TTC no 3 so would be on our shortlist again for either girl or boy Grin

Cakethrow · 18/01/2013 20:05

Love Robin. Was my dad's middle name so might be biased though!

Yakshemash · 18/01/2013 20:05

It's a terrific name. I know two Robins and they're both really nice blokes!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/01/2013 20:06

Lovely, lovely name. Not overfond of Elliot though.

Hate Robyn for a girl.

pinkpudding · 18/01/2013 20:30

love Robin Elliott. both names on my list. Go for it!

Fifi2406 · 18/01/2013 23:28

I love it!!! It's on my list if I ever have another

don't like it for girls though deffo for boys!

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 18/01/2013 23:31

I love it for a girl, in fact if i have a third dc and it's a girl she might well be a Robyn.

No so keen on it for a boy, not sure why.

chocoluvva · 18/01/2013 23:35

Lovely.

FWIW, robins are small, but fiercely territorial. There was one in my garden squaring up to a squirrel the other day.

MoelFammau · 19/01/2013 00:07

DD is Robin. Her best friend (boy) is also Robin. I think it suits her.

Nospringflower · 19/01/2013 07:19

Not keen on Robin - for some reason I view it as a 'weak' name. I also think Timothy is like this. Not saying they are weak just that's what I think.

SillyBeardyDaddyman · 19/01/2013 07:30

Is DS1 called Batman by any chance?
