so far have been called Rory.

3 baby boys I know, all born in the last 10 days all named Rory.

Was there a law passed that I missed...?? Lovely name, I love it, but I didn't know it had become compulsory...!

Op, I see your 3 Rory's and raise you 4 Ruby's and 5 Emily's in a row last year !! (For girls, obv) Grin I'm in scotland too btw and I agree that Rory or Ruairidh (Gaelic spelling) is more common here than darn sarf.

squoosh · 13/01/2013 01:49

I think Rory is always pretty common in Scotland and Ireland, probably more under the radar in England.

I know two born this year - Charlie and Ben.

Our DS is due in a few weeks - I had Rory on my list but DH vetoed. Didn't have any of the other names mentioned here so far though.

That's funny. DH and I have narrowed our short list down to Arthur and Rory but I know 3 boys born in the last 3 weeks that have been called Arthur! So we thought Rory was still a bit under the radar. Obviously not!

thegreylady · 12/01/2013 12:51

Only know two this year-Arthur and Rex

Bathsheba · 12/01/2013 09:33

Good point - it may just be compulsory in Scotland -we have weird laws..!!!

The last three baby boys I know of (admittedly born over 3 months) have been called Leo.
