so far have been called Rory.

3 baby boys I know, all born in the last 10 days all named Rory.

Was there a law passed that I missed...?? Lovely name, I love it, but I didn't know it had become compulsory...!

Quite a popular law that in Scotland too atthewelles :)
With the substitution of Callum for Conor.

atthewelles · 14/01/2013 13:35

Here in Ireland the law says you have to name your daughter Sophie and your son Ryan. It has been amended from the 1990 law which stated that all girls must be called Emma or Sarah and all boys Conor or Jack.

wigglesrock · 14/01/2013 11:24

I know about 7/8 Rorys (various spellings) all under 5ish. I really like it but I veteoed it as I can't say my Rs and I had 3 dds Grin

squoosh · 14/01/2013 11:04

I think a law was passed requiring everyone to name their daughters Lily or Ruby. It seems that way anyway.

zenoushka · 14/01/2013 09:52

Lily - I know 4 of them born in the past month. A beautiful name but becoming VERY popular.

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 14/01/2013 01:55

Oh Rory is our reserve boy's name Confused - I'm hedging my bets because at the 20 week scan baby's legs were crossed and she said Well I can't see any boy bits!.

Babies born in my circle of friends another Jacob and a Lucy.

forgetmenots · 13/01/2013 17:58

For girls it's Ellie/Ella/Emma/Emily/Amy/Amelie/Amelia, which now I get interchanged and confused. Different names that have merged as one in my head due to their popularity.

Wallace · 13/01/2013 17:54

This year I know of a Logan and Emelia

I know loads of Ruairidhs but the youngest is 6.

cocoachannel · 13/01/2013 17:50

I've known three Gretas in recent months which seems unusual!

LadyMetroland · 13/01/2013 17:43

Boys in last couple of weeks

Hugo
Samuel

Don't know any Rorys ...yet!

forgetmenots · 13/01/2013 17:09

Three boys in the last six months all called Lachlan/Lauchlan. And two Ruairidhs, I'm in Scotland too! (Though they say Jack is the most popular name, I've never met a small one!)

RooneyMara · 13/01/2013 10:26

thankyou! Sorry.

RooneyMara · 13/01/2013 10:26

I am spelling it wrong.

GoldPlatedNineDoors · 13/01/2013 10:25

Blasé

MrGeresHamster · 13/01/2013 10:25

Round here it seems to be two syllable names beginning with E...

RooneyMara · 13/01/2013 10:24

Doesn't that literally mean 'indifferent'? Or am I spelling it wrong?

LegoAcupuncture · 13/01/2013 10:22

I Only know one born this year so far, called Blaise.

RooneyMara · 13/01/2013 10:21

I think it's been the year of the ee sound for about 10 years now

I like Maggie though

GoldPlatedNineDoors · 13/01/2013 10:19

I don't know any boys born in 2013 yet, but three girls - Holly, Amy and Ellie. Another due next.month pre-named.Maggie.

Its the year.of the "ee" sound round here

RustyBear · 13/01/2013 10:16

Arthur and Rory - It's the Doctor Who effect! And maybe a bit of Merlin too...

RooneyMara · 13/01/2013 10:13

RooneyMara · 13/01/2013 10:13

I hope it isn't becoming too popular, DC3 is due in 2 weeks and will be Rory if it's a boy.

I only know of one baby born this year so far. He's called Boris. Can't see that exploding in popularity any time soon.

SamsGoldilocks · 13/01/2013 07:18

Just a Miles, but I had a Rory 4 years ago :)
