I have a Lara. It's surprisingly uncommon. I think we've met two other Lara's, one a few years older and one a few years younger.

Its really lovely, I have 3 daughters and I flirted with Lara for each of them. In the end I didn't choose it, but my dd1 goes to school with a Lara and its gorgeous when she says it.

I like it too -- but Larissa is the full form in Russian, not the diminutive.

My all time fave name (also a dr zhivago fan, v romantic). Not allowed to name dd it because xp had a dog called Lara in his youth!
