What do people think of Sacha for a boy? Both our DDs have English name popular in Eastern Europe so I like how this fits.

I am in Ireland and it would most definitely be a girls name here except for people with Russian connections. I like it though for a boy!

I know in America Sasha is seen as a female name (after all it is Obama's daughter) but I am surprised that is the perception here. In Europe it is more commonly used for boys and the one famous UK Sasha who I can think of is Sasha Baron Cohen. But it is really useful to know others see it as feminine.

I have an Alexander. I like Sacha (I love Russian names) but wasn't brave enough to go with it,so he is Alex.

I think in the UK we are more familiar with Sasha as a girl's name, but Alex can be boy or girl as well.

My friends ds is Alex and they call him Sasha, they are Russian and its a common nickname there for Alex. My only reservation is that quite a few people (esp other children) say 'but thats a girls name' when they meet him.

Love it!

Lovely.

I quite like it, if you go for Alexander then you've loads of options and you don't have to stick with Sacha.

I'm thinking of Alexander for ds2 as well.

Unusual but very nice

I love it. DH wouldn't be keen though.
