So now I'm trying to think of a boys name...

You were all very helpful with recent ramona middle name dilemma so thought I'd ask again for help! If this baby isn't a girl then we need to think of a boys name. We really struggled with ds1 but met him and decided on Toby which suits him to a tee. We're both teachers and struggle to find nanes that we both like and don't have associations. My dh doesn't like things that are too out there but wants a name he hadn't taught basically. Toby's a good one as isn't too popular but is pretty 'normal' if you know what I mean. Perdon favourites I have are dexter (dh hates it), Dylan (dh not so sure as taught one he struggled with) and I quite like the sound of Benjamin but not so sure.

Any ideas???!

They were on my list, I think I had similar criteria to you - names that everyone has heard of and can spell, but not particularly common or popular!

Mummydoctor · 29/12/2012 21:03

DS2 is Toby and DS1 is Zachary (Zac is nn)! Others on our short list were Oscar, Harry, Max.

I was going to suggest Lawrence too. Otherwise;

Leon
Felix
Ralph
Arthur (Art)
Nathaniel (Nat)

Euan is nice too. I kind of always had Toby in the back of my mind, then he just looked like a Toby :) hoping if I keep a couple of nanes in my head then once baby is born we'll just know which is right!

Yup ramona is a definite. (Love your username!)
Oscars quite a good one, 2 friends babies are Finn, Orlando too out there as are milo, Devon etc (boring husband!) jack and Lewis are very popular in our schools and unfortunately I've shouted it across a room too many times to give it to a baby! Loving the ideas thoug, keep em coming!

Devon?

Milo?

Nate?

Orlando?

Oscar?

Hal?

Sol?

Fred?

Neiffer · 29/12/2012 19:42

Love Edward and Eddie but I'm worried about how incredibly popular it is because of silly twilight. I know lots of babies this year that are Jacob or Edward :/

So you are going for Ramona for a girl?

TotallyEggFlipped · 29/12/2012 19:39

Edmund/Edward?

Neiffer · 29/12/2012 19:33

I love Samuel but his cousin is called that :(
He's just a Toby. I also like max bit it's awful with our surname (begins with an m)
Also like zack and Isaac but also cousins (we're a big family!). Charlie and billy (William) are a no go for the same reasons :(

I have a Toby ! It's a great name. His big brother is Max. We have on our list for dc3 Sam, Zack and Dexter.

Starfishkiss · 29/12/2012 19:21

Ooh I've just started a similar thread, where I have considered Toby for my potential DS's name, so maybe you would consider my DS's name! - Samuel (Sam), again a normal name but I've not yet met another one!
