Girls' names meaning "dawn" - Aubeline?

Looking for a girl's name that means dawn.

I actually quite like Dawn.

Don't want to use Aurora, just not for me.

I do like Ayelet, "dawn hind/gazelle" in Hebrew.

Stumbled across Aubeline, which allegedly means dawn in French but is potentially way too much like aubergine.

Help!

What's wrong with 'Dawn'?

Names don't need to have the "wow" factor. The baby will have that in spades!

DH has dismissed both Stella and Estrella on the grounds of beer. And he hates Estella and Estelle.

Clara - I've read Heidi to DD1 too many times.

Seren - nice but not for me. Tis a bit plain sounding for my taste, although I understand why it is well liked.

I like the light theme, and had thought Lucienne. But will it just end up Lucy? Which is a perfectly nice name, but lacks the wow factor I'm looking for.

Oh I'm difficult. Aurelia sounds terrible with our surname. And Roxanne is a great Police song, but I couldn't use it....

No, I don't like Aurora either! I was trying to be polite about it.

Aubeline is a bit strange, isn't it.

I don't like Alba either, sorry. It's a good thought and I know many like it but to me it is "albumen".....

Aubergine - well that's actually quite pretty - you could start a trend!! :D

I seem to recall that Roxane/Roxana means Dawn.

EqualsX · 08/12/2012 21:11
