Just that, really...I know how I would want it pronounced, but I don't want to condemn dd to a lifetime of "actually, it's pronounced..." if my pronunciation isn't the most obvious one. So could you roughly phonetically spell the first pronunciation that comes to mind, please, kind mumsnetters?

My Dd is loo chee ah. Or just chee ah. Just tell people the first time you meet how you pronounce it and you're sorted. Lovely name. We get a lot of lovely comments on it.

badtasteflump · 28/11/2012 17:12

Move to Scotland!! It might be one of those names where everyone will always ask the way to pronounce. Like Marie can be ma-ree or mah-ray.

FellatioNelson · 28/11/2012 16:59

Loo-Chee-a with the emphasis on the Chee.

Unless I was talking about St. Lucia the island in which case I'd say Loosha.

PorkusEnormous · 28/11/2012 16:58

loo-chee-ah

TheEnthusiasticTroll · 28/11/2012 16:58

I think you can do loosha

lurcherlover · 28/11/2012 16:57

Thanks all. I would want to say it "loo-sha" so it looks like its back to the drawing board! Grin
