Please don't call her Savannah.

ellargh · 01/12/2012 03:48

Georgia & Susannah are lovely. I prefer Savannah to Susannah though if that's an option?

mathanxiety · 01/12/2012 03:03

Have left in the ones I like:

Astrid
Sorcha (pronounced Surr-uh-kha; if any other pronunciation is contemplated then don't do it)
Bonnie
Hazel
Kirsty
Annie
Miriam
Roisín
Leonie

Snazzyfeelingfestive · 01/12/2012 00:22

StockingFilly · 29/11/2012 16:18

Birth cert, sorry

StockingFilly · 29/11/2012 16:18

Love:
Seren
Sorcha
Roisin (both very Irish though - are you?)
Nina (simple, pretty, classy)
Clara (lovely, classic)
Hazel (under-used, a lovely name)
Susannah (lovely classy name, due a comeback)
Annie / Sylvie both lovely but would use a longer version for birth

The only ones I hate are:
Anita (aeful, not due a comeback any time soon)
Georgia (so popular with teenage age bracket and njust meh)
Marnie: (yuck., soooo cutesy )
Nesta (boys name! Bob Marley etc)
Clover (dogs name)

lovepigeon · 29/11/2012 15:33

top 10 - I think these are all lovely, beautiful names not too fashionable at the moment, feminine without being too cutesy.

Seren
Amy
Nina
Clara
Holly
Hazel
Cerys
Ailsa
Natasha
Lucia

Not keen on:

Marnie (old lady name)
Bonnie
Rosalind
Clover (sounds like a cow)
Nesta (sounds like a brand name or something)
Betty (not intelligent)
Dorothy

Alisvolatpropiis · 29/11/2012 12:00

I love Clara. But only pronounced Klar-ah not Claire-ah. Completely changes my opinion, the latter pronounciation.

YouCanBe · 29/11/2012 11:58

Top ten according to Mumsnet so far, I think, is...

Seren and Cerys
Lucia, Susannah, and Miriam
Nina
Rosalind
Astrid
Harriet
And the favourite - Clara

Dorothy! Love it. I wanted it for our soon-to-be-born DC2 (if a girl) but DH is not overly keen. We've agreed on Audrey. Not that I'm suggesting you add it to your already long list!

MerryMarigold · 29/11/2012 09:31

I think a few people are struggling with Sorcha as well!

YouCanBe · 29/11/2012 08:17

Roisin is pronounced Rosheen by the way, hollyw.

flutterb Hmm. I think my current top ten is...
Oh, no, I'm not down to ten yet, I would have to have a proper think first! Haha.

Astrid
Amy
Nina
Clara
Rosalind
Sylvie
Gwen
Miriam
Natasha
Dorothy

these are my faves.

HotHotNot · 28/11/2012 23:41

My top 10

Astrid
Nina
Clara
Holly
Hazel
Sylvie
Katie
Roisin
Susannah
Dorothy

They are all different types, I couldn't really narrow down as what suits your family and type of DD is so personal. FWIW I think Sylvie, Susannah, Holly and Roisin are v flowing and feminine. Dorothy, Katie and Clara have an old fashioned but practical, classic feel and Astrid, Nina and Hazel cool, fun but strong names.

manicinsomniac · 28/11/2012 23:15

I love:
Astrid, Sorcha, Amy, Cerys, Natasha, Hayley, Susannah

I like:
Julia, Georgia, Seren, Elsie, Clara, Holly, Hazel, Clover, Katie, Ailsa, Miriam

I don't mind:
Marnie, Harriet, Bonnie, Rosalind, Kirsty, Catriona, Nesta, Leonie

I dislike:
Nina, Annie, Sylvie, Gwen, Roisin, Betty, Dorothy, Anita, Lucia

TuftyFinch · 28/11/2012 23:00

Gwen and Betty.

Not in order of preference, but this is my top 10 from your list:
