What are the views on Julia?

Someone suggested it today for DD2 and I initially thought "no", and then thought: "hang on: Julia Flyte plus The White Album.... what's not to like?"

But what connotations do you get? Could it be a runner?

I like it, along with Juliet.

bruffin · 26/11/2012 17:19

Have always loved it but it really doesn't go with our surname (almost rhyming) so couldn't inflict it on DD!

Julia (almost) Gulia in The Wedding Singer Grin

I know one at the moment and she is a lovely intelligent teenager and she was named after The White Album.

Fwiw, it is currently top of the list if our DC2 turns out to be a girl.

ConfusedandBemused · 26/11/2012 17:13

Very very boring!

Arseface · 26/11/2012 17:11

The name is from the Julian Roman family (Julius Caesar's family)

Julian women (Julias) were not only supposed to be absolutely beautiful but very clever and witty and were said to have the special gift of making their families, friends and loved ones extremely happy.

Have always loved it but it really doesn't go with our surname (almost rhyming) so couldn't inflict it on DD!

Its pretty, but I prefer Juliet - its stronger and has a certain classiness about it that Julia somehow lacks....

Frikadellen · 26/11/2012 17:02

I like it prefer it over Julie

BlueChampagne · 26/11/2012 16:41

International, doesn't have to be abbreviated, easy to spell - definitely worth considering!

MrsHelsBels74 · 26/11/2012 16:06

Well I work with a Julia so it reminds me of her...not much help to you though.
