It looks and sounds feminine to me, probably because it ends in an 'a'. I prefer more solid boys names.

Sorry but it makes me think of ASA which is Adveritsing Standards Authority, maybe 'cos it's within my line of work though!

It was on our list for Ds2 but we didn't get a very favourable response from friends and family. Also Dh works in IT and couldn't quite get his head around calling his son a laptop ( albeit spelt differently)
I still love it!

The Swedish name is not Asa it is Åsa, very different. It is popular but mostly for middle aged/older women.

I think it sounds like a lovely boy's name :)

Ooh I don't know, I met him over here, friend of a friend sort of thing. I do know he has a brother called Mark. Which struck me as surprising Hmm

It's ok on a child but not sure about a grown-up tbh.

I think it's got more weight as a boys name....400 BC, and I'm not living in Sweden so I'm not worried about that aspect, but thanks for that info. Smile it's important to take into consideration so many things when picking a name!
