Great thread. Assuming that we mumsnetters cover all regions of the UK, our poll should reflect the ONS data in that the more popular names on here will be higher up the charts when they come out next year. Also great so see which names are becoming more 'trendy'.

Here are the names of babies born over the past year or so that I know of:

Amelia
Constance
Kimberly

Zachary
Quentin
Sebastian

Popularity seems to be a bit of a red herring if this thread is anything to go by, certainly in terms of what it means for your dc. My dd has what looks like a v v popular name on here, but is the only one in her school and haven't met any at toddler groups or nursery. DS has an uncommon name (Raphael) and when he goes to school there will be three in his class if we/they don't move before then. Oddly, I taught the parents of the other two at a parentcraft session and used my baby Raph to demonstrate nappy changes/bathing. They were pregnant with unnamed boys at the time. Grin
