I know someone whose daughter and son are called Paris and Troy. Really! Aside from being utter rubbish, I mean, if we are going with mythology Paris is a boy not a girl, and Troy is a place not a person! Its Paris and Hector surely? Or Troy and Mesopotamia?

So can you top that? Go on, I could do with a laugh.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Stanley and Presley

thegreylady · 20/11/2012 20:55

Charlie and Lola-both lovely names and there is a sibling with an unrelated name between them but still...

goralka · 20/11/2012 20:55

were those your real children's names you listed mrsdevere?
my daughter's name was there.....what a lovely name!

marriedinwhite · 20/11/2012 20:54

Things I would not spend my money on: Uggs, Crocs, Hunters (in London), Birkenstocks, Doc Martens (the DC have them). Have never understood why anyone wants to wear or buy things that aren't pretty or elegant. Now give me a nice pair of Peter Kaisers or LK Bennett's or a little pair of Ferragamo pumps and I'll cross your palm with silver.

I didn't realise when we named them btw that our children might sparkle Grin

Twins called Shaun and Shaunna

DancesWithWoolsEnPointe · 20/11/2012 20:48

I suppose now is not a good time to mention that I have 2 pairs of uggs? Grin They are terribly comfy and warm in winter.

This is the first thread where it's not been oh chav name this and chav name that, it's actually turned out quite equal.

Sharpkat · 20/11/2012 20:42

Know of twins called John and Edward born the same year as Jedward. The mother would never have seen X-factor but I thought it was very funny.

Once met an Asian guy called Fuk Yu. He went by Stephen Grin

Stick them on ebay pickled. Sure someone will pay stupid money for never been worn baby uggs.

BrianAndHisBalls · 20/11/2012 20:40

MrsDV - thank you, so basically hunters - posh, uggs - 'common'. Are crocs those hideous jelly like shoes that look like clogs sort of? And they're 'posh'? I can't keep up!

Fuck me I know nothing about footwear! Grin

goralka · 20/11/2012 20:40

ah but MrsDeVere the point is that you can ride in them as well as muck out!
they're not for anything as common as 'walking the woods', tut!!!]

PickledFanjoCat · 20/11/2012 20:39

I had them as a present from austrailia where they are cheap, they are nearly fifty quid here for baby ones!

Outrageous.

And they are designed so badly his feet could not enter the boot.

Not sure what to do with the bloody things now.

InNeedOfBrandy · 20/11/2012 20:38

hunters are the type of wellies very wealthy UC familys have for hundreds of years in the boot room. Now WC who think they have moved up the social ladder into the so called MC buy them to try fit in with UC but they usually mess up by saying pardon and toilet Grin.

BrianAndHisBalls · 20/11/2012 20:38

Ah! It's nasty to children when it's the one way but 'a bit of piss taking' when it's the other way round Hmm

Pls say you can at least see the double standards??

I don't know of Uggs or Hunters so have no axe to grind but really, this just seems so bizarre. If its bad its bad BOTH ways.

My DH and his brother are named Timothy and Thomas.
