Or a baby Malcolm? Baby Barry? Baby Kevin?

Just thinking about baby names you don't see very often now. Lots of retro/traditional names coming round again...Albie, Eric, Walter, Henry etc but will we ever see a resurgence of this middling names?!!

Baby Bernard anyone???

I know a child called Barry, I think he's about 4 or 5. It suits him :).

sausageandorangepickle · 12/11/2012 22:21

Baby Derek, anyone?

gallicgirl · 12/11/2012 22:19

I have a cousin called Colin. When he was born we thought we might get used to the name eventually. He's now at high school at I'm still not quite used to it.
It does sort of suit him though - he's a bit old-fashioned.

I also know a toddler named Ian and a baby Sidney, Stanley and Mabel

Bernard reminds me of one of the grooms in Four Weddings and a Funeral. They're humping away in the hotel room and she just keeps shouting in a very posh voice 'Oh BERNARD!'.

That and Weekend at Bernie's!

I want a baby Dave.

Or a baby Clifford.

I know a baby Barry. But it is a kitten though...

Soniboo a real life Baby Bernard?!!!?! Does he gave rosy cheeks? Don't know why but that's what I imagine. Oooo, and a waistcoat and pocket watch, with a dandy walking cane and monocle?

I know some little Nigels. They are cute. It is steadily used in the Afro-Caribbean community where I live.

Jenny funny how some names are really associated with dogs. Although my friend has a dog called Kevin. I grew up with a school friend whose dog was Emma and my exboyf had a Trevor.

I know a 3 year old Bernard as well as a 9 year old Janet.

JennyPiccolo · 12/11/2012 21:14

I always think Colin and Nigel are good dog names.

Leafmould · 12/11/2012 21:12

Absolutely love Bernard, nn Bernie. Am I serious enough? Or has my intention to have a Nigel outed me?

ButtonBoo · 12/11/2012 21:01

Might start a thread asking what people think about Bernard, Bernie for short. See how serious folk take me.

Grin at creamoftomato

And I used to go out with a Kenneth when I was 14! Was weird then. Weirder now.

Still think Baby Bernard has to be top of the list.
