I love the name Mckenzie-blue. What does everyone else think of it xxx

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
threeineachlobe · 22/10/2012 22:35

Ooooooooooh no. That is all.

Actually it's not all, why am I thinking of a non-specific police drama Confused

Alisvolatpropiis · 22/10/2012 22:32

I think a less uniquely spelt name will stand your child in better stead throughout his/her life generally.

But...you're not being serious right?

cupcake19992110436247 · 22/10/2012 22:28

Not yet baby name.. Its just a thought :)

But NOT Ezekiel

Sossiges · 22/10/2012 22:23

Or Rhydian or Fergus

mayanna123 · 22/10/2012 22:22

"Have you considered Ben or Tom OP? "

Whilst McKenzie isn't to everyone's taste, many will find names like Ben and Tom overused and dull.

Sossiges · 22/10/2012 22:22

Nah, stick with Malachi

KennethParcell · 22/10/2012 22:21

mckenzie is not a unique name thompsontwins. it's popular in the usa. not saying i like it, but unique it aint.

Viviennemary · 22/10/2012 22:20

cupcake19992110436247 · 22/10/2012 22:19

It's the ops sons name isn't it? According to her profile.

LeeCoakley · 22/10/2012 22:18

For a girl?? Crikey, it was bad enough when I thought it was a boy's name...

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 22/10/2012 22:17

Blue is a dogs name. HTH. Grin

akaemmafrost · 22/10/2012 22:17

I like Blue as the second name. Not McKenzie though.

ThompsonTwins · 22/10/2012 22:16

I presume the name has come from the Tina Wells books. Four syllables - the sound is rather clumsy. If you have a surname that is more than one syllable, the name could be a veritable mouthful. Every time your daughter gave her name she would have to spell it and explain it. This could be embarrassing and become tedious for her. Do you really love the name or are you just trying to be original? Mackenzie is generally a surname. Choosing a name you like is important but will your daughter want to be the focus of attention every time she gives her name?

Spero · 22/10/2012 22:15

You need to read the chapter in Freakonomics about the implications of 'unique' names.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 22/10/2012 22:14

Well-because people don't actually post things like that unless they are taking the piss?
Because this is mumsnet, not the sparkly site Grin

lisaro · 22/10/2012 22:14

It's actually Makkenzey-blu. Grin

RonettePulaski · 22/10/2012 22:14

Have you considered Ben or Tom OP?

mayanna123 · 22/10/2012 22:14

Why are you asking?

LeeCoakley · 22/10/2012 22:13

At school he will enviously look at Sam and Zoe finishing their work and going to play in the sand while he is still trying to write his name across the top of the paper Grin

Nicknamenotavailableeither · 22/10/2012 22:13

Wow! How was I supposed to know that you were being sarcastic??

TantrumsAndBalloons · 22/10/2012 22:11

I was being sarcastic FFS

I wont bother next time.

No OP I don't like it. The first part looks like its spelt wrong. The second part is a colour

HTH

and I swear down if anyone actually thinks I would post like that seriously I will cry.

Cahoots · 22/10/2012 22:10

I don't like it at all, sorry Sad

(you did ask Confused)

shoobidoo · 22/10/2012 22:09
