I love the name Mckenzie-blue. What does everyone else think of it xxx

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Inneedofbrandy · 23/10/2012 00:20

I am tempted to put my dcs' names up sometimes. In RL dd gets told how pretty her name is ect and have never had nothing snooty said. I wonder what MN would say hmm

ExitPursuedByAaaaaarGhoul · 23/10/2012 00:19

Call your child whatever you want.

MildredIsMyAlterEgo · 23/10/2012 00:19

I think it's awful. Mind you I am an old fogey, I can't be doing with all these current popular names - Jayden, Brayden, Kayden, Kai etc.

Only my opinion as asked by the OP, flame at will Smile

MrsRhettButler · 23/10/2012 00:18

I've had people in rl be snooty about my dd's names, (well, dd1's anyway) some horrible bag told me to nickname her Annie when she starts school to 'make it easier for her' Hmm dd1 absolutely loves her name and she's very clever (top of her class) and she has no idea that she's banned from doing well in life beacause Mumsnet says her name is 'chavvy,' its Hebrew actually, if anyone cares.

BOF of course you are allowed your opinion as I am allowed mine its just the experience of these threads really get my goat because people can get really rude and what usual said is true, its attitudes that need changing not names.

Inneedofbrandy · 23/10/2012 00:18

How do you know, didn't realise a time travel machine had been invented yet!

GoSakuramachi · 23/10/2012 00:15

Maybe, but Lexxii-Candii won't thank you for it.

ExitPursuedByAaaaaarGhoul · 23/10/2012 00:14

Ramsbottom-ecru here.

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 23/10/2012 00:12

Sophie Catherine would probably get a Hmm from me. It befuddles me that people deliberately name their child something that they know so many other children of their generation will be named

It's Jones-yello every time for me.

Inneedofbrandy · 23/10/2012 00:11

I don't know any Sophie's or Catherine's my dcs ages. I know quite a few Lexis they go to school with Hugh's ( how about that) my nan comments the way people are about names ( on threads like these) is how they were when she named her dd Tracey. What I'm trying to say there is so many Lexis ect un mumsnet names that it won't be eyebrow raising in 20 years when there looking for jobs!

Are people surprised that some names are somehow more acceptable than others? They don't realise that a girl introduced as Lexii-Candii will get a Hmm while a Sophie Catherine won't?
Bit naive, at best. You might not like it, but its reality.

Mc= son of

Kenzie=who the fuck's he?

Why would you call your kid something that means they are the son of some randomer? It's just a bit silly. In my opinion. Which was asked for. That is just what I think.

Right, bedtime.

MrsRhettButler · 23/10/2012 00:01

I got your sarcasm btw usual Wink I get so bored of hearing the same thing too.

Oh, I love brandy's comment too, if he wants to be a fucking judge he fucking will!

ExitPursuedByAaaaaarGhoul · 23/10/2012 00:01

Names evolve though BOF, the fact that so many people use it as a first name nowadays means that surely its evolving no?

GoSakuramachi · 22/10/2012 23:58

Also all first names. Except for Conner (would be Conor or Connor if you must).

I quite like it. I was really tempted to call my son kenzo but then my sons name is actually made up! Oh and if he ever wants to be a judge he will be!

UltraBOF · 22/10/2012 23:56

If you smelt it you dealt it.

Etc.
