I know it's ultra popular but do you know many? I only know one under 2.

Not iSophia! A baby is not an Apple app! [hgrin]

MolotovBomb · 25/10/2012 10:10

I know so many Sophie's under 5yo. Six women who had babies at the same time as me (Feb '09 and April '12) have Sophies.

We considered Sophia for DD2 (more because we prefer iSophia to Sophie).

Don't get me wrong - it is an absolutely beautiful name (hence it's popularity) but round our way, Sophie is more popular than Isabelle/Isabella.

I know half a dozen between the ages of 3 and 8. It's okay but a bit boring imo. Sophia is much more classic and classy, and avoids the twee 'ee' endings that are so inexplicably popular at the moment.

TheWoollybacksWife · 24/10/2012 21:30

I have a 13 year old Sophie. During her time at primary school there was one other Sophie in a different year group. In her senior school year she is the only Sophie. There are half a dozen Isabels and Annas though.

I have met a baby Sophie recently. It is a lovely name.

hillbilly · 24/10/2012 21:14

DD s called Sophie. She's 7.

beth12345 · 24/10/2012 21:02

I know one adult Sophie, and 2 little girls 6 and 4 years old. I think it is a lovely name. We liked it for each of our DDs but didn't choose it as I thought it was too popular. However, as it turns out, neither of my DDs have a Sophie in their classes at school.
DH would like Sophie for our next child (though we won't be having any more! Smile).

MonsterBookOfTerrors · 24/10/2012 19:58

Dd not ds :o

MonsterBookOfTerrors · 24/10/2012 19:57

My dd turned 2 at the beginning of the month, she is a Sophie, there is two at her nursery, 1 in ds reception class and 1 under two who is a friends ds.
Lovely name which I believe is worth sharing :)

Pitufina · 24/10/2012 19:51

Sophie is a nice name. My daughter is called Sofia. I know one Sophie and know of a Sophia too.
We debated whether to spell it Sofia or Sophia for ages, decided on using an F and now have to keep spelling it out because people keep spelling it with PH. Never mind! Hmm

GoldPlatedNineDoors · 24/10/2012 19:47

I only know one. She is one. I liked the name, until I realised how her mother pronounced it "So fey"

Grrrr.

amandine07 · 24/10/2012 19:44

Sophie is a very sweet name, I personally prefer Sophia although that seems to have got very popular in recent years...

blueblizz · 23/10/2012 14:38

My 4yr old dd is a Sophie. She has always liked it and could say/ spell it from an early age... always a help!!

AnotherCerealNameChanger · 22/10/2012 22:34

I know one baby Sophie, one toddler Sophie and three adult Sophie's

CharlieBoo · 22/10/2012 21:52

Much prefer Sophie... I know loads of Sofia's all under 4, but only one little Sophie.

newby2 · 22/10/2012 20:56

We have a Sophie aged 2 and love her name. There's one other who is 3 years in our village as far as I know. Wish I could use it for our 2nd baby!

FluffyFish · 22/10/2012 20:47

I don't really like Sophia. Just Sophie.

HanSolo · 22/10/2012 20:43

we know 4 Sophies under 7.
Sophia is a far superior name though...

InherentlyCantankerous · 22/10/2012 20:28

Sophia much more popular around these parts - I know 3 under 2 and there are 2 in our school's Y1 class.

josie81 · 22/10/2012 20:23

I love it, it's a strong contender for dc2. I don't know any little Sophies but I do know 2 Sophias under 4.

StrawberryMojito · 22/10/2012 20:19

There is a Sofie in the baby room at my DSs nursery and we also know a 1 year old Sophia. I like Sophie but prefer Sophia.

InherentlyCantankerous · 22/10/2012 20:16

I know one 3yo Sophie, so not overly popular here, it's a lovely name.

Selenium · 22/10/2012 19:47

I know 2 little Sophies (under 3). Sophia seems to be more popular round here.

Dogsmom · 22/10/2012 17:31

I really like the name too, I only know 2 babies and one is Sophie (next door neighbrours 11 month old) the girl who lives opposite is Sophie too and she's about 10.

DeadTall · 22/10/2012 16:59

I know a 12 year old Sophie, and two 15 year olds, but no little ones

LonelyCloud · 22/10/2012 16:53
