Are there a million Cais and Scarletts

These are my favourite names, sadly one has been hijacked by the Rooneys and when my mum last stayed over and subjected us to Eastenders I was horrified that there is a baby Scarlett on there.

Too many people using them, I wanted something unusual (am also Welsh), Kai is the brother in Once and Future King (basis for Sword in the Stone), and Scarlett, Gone With the Wind.

DH has veto'd them.

I know an eight year old and six year old Cai (welsh mothers) and lots of Kais. Sorry, not keen. Only know one Scarlett though. Quite pretty, I think. What about Violet?

I know one Kai, one Kye (short for Kyeran) and not a single Cai (and am also in Wales). Never met a Scarlett.

I don't know any Kai/Cais so don't think it is that popular, but I do know a few Scarletts. Why don't you look on the ONS list to see how both names have progressed up/down the charts over the past few years - that will give you an idea of how widely they're used already.

Here in Wales Cai and Caio are very popular- and that was way before Kai Rooney. I know a 21 year old Cai, a 19 year old Cai and lots of primary aged children called Cai and Caio, a toddler Cai and a baby Caio. Also a couple of dogs! But this is largely because I'm in Wales I suspect so maybe isn't a fair representation!
I know one Scarlett- she doesn't live in Wales though!

I have never encountered a baby called Cais.

Kai is horrible though.

Scarlett? Was already done to death 5 years ago.

Lots of Kais and Scarlettes, maybe not a million but but fairly common.
