Love it, my DD's middle name.
Named for my favourite Aunt. Would have used it as her first name but my mothers nose would be put out of joint.

i have a 10 yo Alexandra. i have mixed feelings about her name. she was early and very ill when she was born, and i felt she needed a strong name. i had wanted to call her Rose or Poppy.

i still like her name. she is always Alexandra to me, but her friends call her Alex or Ali, she has never been Lexie. she has another very short nickname completely unrelated to her name that she is almost always called by people who have known her since she was a baby.

it does suit her, but sometimes i think it is a little too long.

I have an Alexandra. She goes by Lexie mostly although I love Alex as a nn too.

Pretty and classic, as well as being unusual these days. Alex might well crop up as a nickname (and nothing wrong with it IMO) but she could also be Al, Ali, Lexie.
