Weren't you thinking of Tabitha recently? Tabitha is much better than Eulalie!

Panzee · 27/09/2012 12:50

Another one who thought of Spode's underwear shop! :o

Honsandrevels · 27/09/2012 12:47

Spode's underwear shop?

ellesabe · 27/09/2012 12:43

Sounds too much like a musical instrument to me. Sorry!

MrSunshine · 27/09/2012 11:01

Its really easy to pronounce. You-lah-lee. It's French.

allthefun · 27/09/2012 10:58

Seriously?
What on earth is the point of names that no one can actually pronounce?

Sure it's nice in a book but that's different from a lifetime of frustration as the poor child has to correct everyone's spelling and pronunciation everyday.

TeriyakiGoldWoo · 27/09/2012 10:39

I think it's beautiful.

LittleWhiteWolf · 27/09/2012 10:32

I like it. I'm pronouncing it "U-lay-lee" in my head. Yeah, I think its nice!

SilverSky · 27/09/2012 09:10

Aurelia?

Safire · 27/09/2012 09:08

I also thought Wodehouse. And pronunciation/ spelling might be a problem?

saffronwblue · 27/09/2012 08:51

I think for me it has too many vowels and is too close to ululate. She will spend a lot of time spelling it to people. But if you love it, go for it!

rachel1970 · 27/09/2012 08:44

Lovely name - pretty and underused. People will remember her (beautiful) name easily imo.

SirEdmundFrillary · 26/09/2012 14:49

It made me remember Wodehouse too but as I love his books it makes me smile and I think it's lovely!

Theas18 · 26/09/2012 14:42

Wodehouse. Nuff said- but that's only in our slightly eccentric household .

Cezella · 26/09/2012 14:36

Love it! It's so pretty. Never heard it before

SomebodySaveMe · 25/09/2012 13:19

It makes me think of Eulogy Confused

Gwennan · 25/09/2012 13:01

I think Eulalie looks very pretty but I am not sure it is strong enough for a first name.

I would pronounce it yoo-LAY-lee but I'm not sure whether oo-la-LEE would be more authentic?

perplexedpirate · 25/09/2012 12:33

Ha scaevola!

The first thing I thought when I saw it was 'that's Jeeves secret password'.

I know all about Eulalie.

MadBusLady · 25/09/2012 12:31

It's pretty, but somehow a bit of a tongue-twister. Wouldn't it just get slurred into Ew-llllee? Is there another similar-sounding name that replaces one of the Ls with something else IYSWIM?

scaevola · 25/09/2012 12:21

I think it's a lovely name (despite Spode in the Wodehouse books).

MrSunshine · 25/09/2012 12:10

I presume you mean as in Poe. So many nicer names from poetry to choose from.
