In my secondary school the cool kids were Dean and Susan. Dh says no to both names!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Sally was the pretty one everyone fancied, Louise was the bad girl who left at 16 (was a v.academic grammar so everyone was shocked), Jeanie (old fashioned name even then!) was the naughty cheeky one who everyone wanted to be friends with. Like NoComparison said though, knowing what I know now I wish I hadn't wasted so much time envying them!

NoComparison · 24/09/2012 13:03

It may say a lot about the kind of school I went to, but knowing what I know now about what happened to the "cool" kids after they left school, the last thing I aspire to for my children is for them to be considered cool at school.

Oh one of the cool girls was called Debbie. Her best friend was even cooler but I can't for the life of me remember her name. It will come...

neverquitesure · 24/09/2012 12:45

Girls: I honestly can't remember now!! Our head girl was a lovely girl called Katie, not sure if she was 'cool' so much as really liked though.

Boys: Max, Sam and Joel

All the 'cool' kids' names when we were at school are, by definition, going to be names used a lot in the 70s and 80s - Mike, Steve, Paul, Sarah, Karen, etc. In addition there was a very cool, good looking Thor in my year!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 24/09/2012 09:19

I'm not so sure about the lads cause there was such a huge and diverse group of them.

The girls that a lot looked upto were Angela and Alexis (completely outing myself with those names!)

Non of our boys were cool.
Ross and Owen in the year below were hot!
Nicola was the nearest we got to a cool girl.
Some pretty popular Steve's higher up the school, our years were dull.
4 Susans no cool ones.
Yes and a pretty cool Dean in with popular Steves.

Wayne is likely to have teachers running for the hills, they have an awful reputation for being trouble.
